Celebration of Hope - Desmond's testimony

Hi everyone,
this is Desmond sharing on behalf of Permas Jaya cell group.

We all had a good time with the new friends during the Celebration of Hope. It was held during last Friday's cell meeting at Ivy's house. On that particular nite we actually had so much going on - potbless, ice-breakers & games , gift-exchange, DVD testimony.

All of our cell members put in so much energy 'n' effort preparing food eventhough we were all tired after a whole week of work. We set a theme for a Western menu, so we had mushroom soup, garlic bread, spaghetti, porkchop with cheese, potato salad, vegetable salad & turkey... For dessert we had fruits and ice-cream! It was superbly nice like buffet in a six star hotel - wow!Yummy!!!

Besides this we also had a beautifully decorated Christmas tree to place our presents for the gift-exchange.

The ice-breaker was simple but effective - all the new comers felt warm and memorized everybody's name. It was also good for us to get to know all the new friends. We actually had 5 new comers in this Celebration of Hope. What i learnt during this celebration is to reach out to strangers with more initiative - talk to them, get to know more about their lives and where they come from, what they are doing etc..

While we were playing Rev Wong Kim Kong's DVD testimony, I could see that all the new friends really concentrated in the short message. After this 20-minute short message, we closed this Celebration of Hope gathering with a simple sinner's prayer. Thank God that most of our new friends were following in prayer after Benny. Wow!

It was amazing - not only we have a wonderful food to celebrate this programme but we are also having brilliant spiritual food that evening. I trust that God is the host who makes everything smooth 'n' nice, every single minute. Really thank God that He brightened up the atmosphere.

Don't think we are small 'n' not important. In God's eyes we all are special and wonderful...Do encourage all of our TnT bros & sisters, we do our best in our minor roles, and GOD will play the major role.

2 Timothy 2:21 If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean and you will be ready for our Master to use you for every good work.

All the best to the other cell groups who will be running the Celebration of Hope programme. Don't give up inviting your friends! You never know who God wants to touch!
