I was cleaning up my room and I stumble upon a message preached by Pastor James, 'how much is Jesus worth?' This really caught my attention.
Jesus' worth will determine what you are willing to do for Him and how you will go about doing it.
Matthew 13:44-46
44"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
This passage describe the worth of the kingdom of God, I have never seen this passage this way. Today, God opened my eyes to see that when we found Jesus, it is the most precious thing, that you are willing to give up everything just to get this one thing. Very very precious, like some treasure hunt movie that the treasure hunter is willing to even give up his life for that one very precious stone.
So what are you willing to do??
Do you love him enough to sacrifice? Do you want him enough to obey what He tells you to do?
If you were to put a price tag on Jesus, how much will it be?
Here are some examples of how people in the bible value Jesus.
Peter and Andrew (Mark 1: 16-18)
16As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 17"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." 18At once they left their nets and followed him.
Jesus is worth more than my career
John the Baptist (Mark 1:7)
7And this was his message: "After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
Jesus is worth far more than what I am worth
Paul (Philipians 3:4-8)
4though I myself have reasons for such confidence. If anyone else thinks he has reasons to put confidence in the flesh, I have more: 5circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6as for zeal, persecuting the church; as for legalistic righteousness, faultless.
7But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.
Jesus is worth far more than all things
How much is Jesus worth to you?
How much is Jesus' offer of salvation worth to you?
How much is His presence worth to you?
How much is His words worth to you?
Is He worthy enough for you to go to jail for Him?
Is He worthy enough for you to come to church on time to worship Him every week?
Is He worthy enough for you to go on a mission trip annually?
Is He worthy enough for you to acknowledge Him publicly?
Is He worthy enough for you to be wronged, accused and rejected?
Is He worthy enough for you to give to those He ask you to give?
Is He worthy enough for you to give up your bad habits?
Is He worthy enough for you to give up your hobby?
Is He worthy enough for you to read His word and talk to Him daily.
How much is Jesus worth to you?
