TnT's CNY visitation @ 9 Feb (sat)

courtesy of Seow Ching

*sorry for the english, i kept switching between past & present tense.

It is the third day of Chinese new year, morning, or wishing it to be noon as I lift my heavy eyelids and recalling what Yan sms-ed me.

"TnT visitation, 11am@boon fei's house..." Blah blah..

Oh, this is going to be fun, I thought. Getting ready, lazed out of comfy bed, went into cold shower and chickened back to life. Ha.

Sat in Titus' car, apologized for being late, and let that super driver whisked us to Boon Fei's house - the first stop.

I got down, stood at the gate...

"GONG XI GONG XI!!!!"

and the gate opened like sesame. Said the Hi's and Happy-new-years and gave the mandarin oranges, feeling great and seeing all the TnT boys and girls hanging around in the livin' room , and the TnT gentlemen and ladies helping out in the kitchen. Lol, joking.

Apparently Angela is preparing a special snack for us, saw Yan cutting japanese cucumbers, Sally is doing something to the jap sushi rice, and I walked around observing the others, helping a little and nipping some food in the kitchen.

Some others arrived, Grace, Terence, Jun Xiang, adding to the 10+ TnT people in the joyous house. The girls started chit-chatting in the living room, the guys hanging around as usual. Yak yak yak..

I enjoyed this picture-perfect moment, especially when Angela announced that the snack is ready.

Everybody learned how to make a traditional japanese handroll, with Boon Fei illustrating it. Putting a palm-sized 'seaweed' in your hand, add some sticky rice on it, add whatever favoured toppings, and form a 'U'-shaped roll in your hand. There were so many toppings, tuna, chicken, fish eggs, cucumber, carrot, rou gan, etc. So delicious, I can't describe. The drinks are superb too, shandy with cocktail fruits.

It is well, with my soul. =)

After the scrumptious snack, we streamed back to the living room, watching the Hairspray musical and bits of Drumline. Some are being recruited to play the Rummy-Kub board game.

We had such a great time, minutes passed by like seconds. And this was only the first stop. Imagine what fun and fellowship we had later on, the delightful lunch at J'ffrey's place, visitation at Maggie's, Chung Wah's, Stella's, Titus', Wayne's, Grace's, and a perfect family reunion styled dinner at Wei Zhen and Wei Ting's house. We prayed for each family, for God's abundant blessing to flow through them.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the dinner, with heavy and concerned hearts, we attended Shu Jing's brother's funeral at Taman Skudai Baru. I could see that she was a little shakened but holding up so strongly.
We paid our respects, the sisters hugged her, taking comfort by the fact that her brother had accepted Christ before passing away, and we will all meet again in heaven.

I was being reminded by this bible verse that instructs us to be joyful with the joyful, and mourn with the sorrowful people.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The TnT cell groups has indeed grown to support each other through happy and also tough times. We will never be too far to reach out to the others. Of course, there will always be room for improvement.

Let us continue to run this race that God has set before us, let year 2008 be a meaningful one.
See you soon, and a happy new year =)

.

**Thanks to Mr & Mrs Hup Two also, for their CNY open house which we really enjoy =)
