Fictitious characters in Full Gospel Church TnT:
They do not represent any person, dead or alive... similarities found could be pure coincidence!
Don: Male, Age 26, IT nerd, Facebooker, loves Starbucks and chats online with his colleagues. Surprisingly has a girlfriend by the name of Lila. Is thinking of getting married, hasn't proposed. Wants to love God more because of Lila. Might go for the Healthy Living talk - maybe it'll prepare him towards a marriage... he does have some bad habits...
Mariam: Female, Age 35, has a 9 to 5 job at some contractor firm, likes football and mamak... one of the boys... praying that God will send her to some tough place for Missions
Pam: Female, Age 23, just graduated from KL and working in Singapore, lives in JB and is fully committed in serving God. Has a broken family but doesn't affect her.
Tye: Male, Age 31, still hates girls, spends too much on gadgets and has a doting sister, doing his Masters part-time, has doubts about Christianity
Lila: Female, Age 25, Don's girlfriend and Tye's sister, always giving, always serving, never thinks of herself, society's doormat but in a way Pam defends her, loves God...
Ricky: Male, Age 33, downtown Ah Beng, loves to sing but can't do English, drinks too much but lately feels convicted to lay it all down at the feet of Jesus
Just outside Canaan Hall, Ricky decides to ask Mariam a question
Ricky: Eh, you guys going mamak again ar?
Mariam: Of course, joining us? Let's go lim teh.
Ricky: Wah Mariam, you only think of mamak... actually you Christians very different hor. Just now the Vision Casting... wah... only talking about God is good God is good God is good. So many plans this year. Go here go there, camp lar, mission lar... I also don't know all that lar...
Mariam: Haiyah, that's why must go mamak... can tell you more. Myself, I have been preparing to go and do missions... maybe become fulltime missionary. I want to
share the gospel with all the poor people in tough countries.
Ricky: Good lor... I also want to help poor people. Last year, I went to Skudai Parade, then one bunch of your church people talk to me about gospel lor... That's why I am here... I think it was Street E. Last time, I smoke a lot and also drink. Smoking I quit already since I come to church... But I still drink. How to become Christian? Aiks...
Mariam: Really ar? Because of Street E, you come to church ar? Wow, maybe before I go and do missions, I must join Teenz for Street E... By the way, E stands for Evangelism, which means sharing the good news of Jesus Christ. So I have good news for you. Your drinking habit can go one, if you commit to change with God's help. Why don't you come for Encounter Retreat?
Ricky: I already ask Jesus to come into my heart but really feel like my oldself. Am I Christian also I dunno. OK lar, I try this Encounter Retreat. Some more I still wear all the temple things... I think I must throw but dunno how. OK, I sign up.
Meanwhile inside Canaan Hall...
Tye: I think the Financial Management is for me. (sarcastic) I bet Lila planned it.
Pam: Why are you always so hard on your sister? Relax lar... Eh, everyone talking about the new cell groups in Perling and Rinting... and also the upcoming TnT camp... so much fun last year... learnt so much from Pastor James! Why are you only interested in the Financial Management? Although it'll be good for you... always spending money.

Tye: You girls all the same... so Godly one... not for me lar... I am just a basic Christian. Sometimes, I also think to myself what's the point of being committed until so like-that. Maybe I should go for the Career Talk - need interview tips. My lifestlye need better pay. Haha!
Don: Tye, you're still single you don't understand. After being with Lila for 3 years, I learnt a lot. It's not about earning more and having a good job. It's all pointless, if you don't have God in your life. What's your purpose?
Pam: Yeah, Don's got it. Just now Ke Tyng and Maggie's sharing made me so thankful I know Jesus. It made me reflect how I came to know God. Actually, my father left when I was very young, and later my mom also ran away. My grandmother raised me and my brother. We were so poor but she put us through university. Only much later I realised how. My grandmother's cell group members have been supporting our family every month, without fail. I can't believe how wonderful God is sometimes!
Tye: Wah, if got people supply money to me every month, I also become committed Christian lar. You think money grows on trees meh?
Lila: Wei bro. Talking nonsense again ar? You don't know poor until you go for mission trips. I plan to go to Thailand again with the Teenz. This time you're coming with me.
Don: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. For CNY visitation, I want to invite all of you to my parents' house. They are not Christians, and I want to introduce them to my Christian friends.
Tye: I think I better not go... haha... I have only one motive... to collect angpow.
Pam: You are super money-face hor?!
Tye: You so easily get angry one ar?
Lila: Sorry Pam, my bro's like that one...
Pam: I'm used to it...
Lila: But let me tell you something, outside look macho, inside real scaredy-cat. Last year, during the CSI games he was so nervous when he went to check ou
t the crime scene.
Tye: If I send you girls, also you scared lar... They put the crime scene in the darkest part of church, below the creepy trees. I thought I will see a dead body mar.
Don: Good thing, I suggested to just draw an outline right? Not bad right?... the way we organised it... We had authentic looking evidence, a crime lab, CCTV footage, interrogation rooms... Can't wait for Season 2 and Season 3.
Lila: Don't forget the purpose is to invite new friends!!
Pam: Yeah... don't forget what Boon Fei shared... we have target! 1,500 TnT agegroup to be churched within 5 years... If each of us gets 15-30 new friends, we'll have 1,500.
Tye: Come to think of it, I was quite touched during the sharing. That TnT only started with 3 people. It's truly amazing how we've multiplied into 4 cell groups averaging 15-20 members.
Lila: Now, that's the bro I'm proud of. Looks like you were paying attention after all. I really want to push towards Reaching One More for Jesus!! Can't wait for the Bill Newman and TnT Gospel Rally. I'm gonna invite my cousins and colleagues... and Don's parents!
Tye: Who's this Bill guy?
Don: I googled him... An evangelist from Australia... His website super cool... You can listen to podcasts of his messages... I think I have one in my Ipod right now... He has been to India, Nigeria, Colombo... In fact he was in Sri Lanka for 11 years.
Mariam butts in...
Mariam: Sri Lanka! Hey, I might want to go to Sri Lanka... Oh yeah... Wanted to say... time to go mamak!!! Why are you guys still inside the hall??!! Ricky is joining us today... So hurry up!
And so the TnTs went to mamak... the usual hangout suggestion... after cell group, after church meetings, after band practice, after CSI, after gospel rallies, after mission trips, after all... we are the "Teh and Teh" group... More laughter continued as they reviewed the TnT plans for the year... Don't forget to check out this TnT blog for updates...
