Many times in our lives, we felt dishearten by the negative outcomes and results no matter how much we have done. Similarly to what’s happening to the team Shiloh Eagles.

Many of us may feel the same as Coach Taylor & Brock, who have suffered defeats after defeats.

But when Coach Taylor took the lead to encourage Brock to give him his best, he did offer up his best to the coach by finishing to the end. Have we done our best today in our lives for God today? Are we encouraged in any way to continue our race with God?

Do take the lead in joining the TnT Camp 2010. The theme is “SPUR”, which is to give heart/courage to.

SPUR - TnT Camp 2010

This year our camp theme "SPUR" is in lined with our church theme "Build Up One Another". At our age, we often tight up with many things on hand as we tend to achieve our goals, our plans and at the same time, juggling the limited time we have with our families, friends as well as servings in church. The stress and the tiredness tend to conspire to suck out our enthusiasm and passion for the Lord.

Truly, we need a fresh touch of the Holy Spirit a sense of wonder at God’s love – of what Jesus has done for us on the Cross.

Let’s join this camp so that we can diligently and attentively consider each other's trials, difficulties, and weaknesses; feel for each other, and excite each other to an increase of love to God and man; and as proof of it, to be fruitful in good works.

We need spurring on, encouragement;

We need someone who believes in us.

This camp is for you and me.

Orang Asli Mission Trip - 20 & 21 March 2010

This 2D1N Orang Asli Mission Trip was not as tough as those mission trips that went deep in the valleys or at the mountain top yet it was full of challenges still. A group of us departed from Taman Sutera to the Orang Asli villages in Seremban. The team members were Choon Siang, Hup2, Yee Voon, ShuJing, LayHoon, Chris, Shan, Serene, Jack, ChinLee, Vincent, Wayne, Max, Marcus, Malcom and myself (SiewChing), most of us are from Perling Cell Group.

We visited 2 villages on the first day. When we reached the first village, we had no idea where and how to conduct the service as most of us were new to mission field. The hall used for service was very small, during praise and worship time, we could hear the adults singing Allah Bangkit and yet at the little corner, the children were singing Who Is The King Of the Jungle. No doubt it was distracting when both sides were singing different songs, the spirit of God is always with us, His presence was so strong that everyone was so joyful and was moved by His Spirit. Then, we continue the service with sermon preaching and some sharing.

At the children’s corner, we prepared some ice-breaking games to mingle with the kids and a lesson to assure them that Jesus will never leave us nor abandon us. We taught the lesson through letting the children searching for the missing ball which represented a lost sheep. At the end of the lesson, I was moved to tears when I saw the kids prayed and surrendered themselves to our Almighty God.

Communicating with the villagers in Malay language was indeed a big challenge to our team as most of us did not speak Malay for ages and a few of us could not even speak Malay at all! Thank God that the language was not a barrier for us to communicate with the villagers and we were glad to deliver God’s messages clearly to the adults and the children there.

As we were running out of time and in order for us to reach the second village on time to conduct the service, Pastor drove like a F1 racer! His driving skill was excellent and truly impressive! Although we were late for an hour, the villagers still welcomed us with their warmest smiles. I was impressed by their loving and forgiving attitude. We did a presentation of Tuhan Pasti Sanggup after the praise and worship session. Hup2 shared his sermon in Malay (wow!), it was really a great sharing and everyone enjoyed listening to all his cold jokes! On the other hand, the children were happy with the games and ballooning especially prepared for them.

I got a chance to talk to an old lady (the mother of the chairperson of that service), she shared with me that she serves God through attending and giving support to a cell group in Malacca every week. She was sick but she still insisted to drive to Malacca by herself for the sake of sharing good news to the others. She told me that she will continue to serve the Lord until the day that she is unable to do so. Her determination, commitment and faithfulness toward God truly touched my heart.

God is great! Initially we were worried as we were told to sleep in the aborigines’ house where all of us had to squeeze in a tiny room but out of our expectation, we were arranged to sleep in 2 rooms with air condition and the bathrooms come with water heater J God is our Jehovah Jireh, the Provider!

The next morning 6am, we continue our journey to the third village. It was my turn to share my testimony. I was not comfortable to share my personal experience in front of so many strangers. When I was about to share one of the most unpleasant experiences that I encountered, I did not have the courage to share it out and I wished to give it a pass… unexpectedly I heard God speaking to me, “do not be afraid to share My works on you, let your experience touch the hearts of the people just like how I have touched your heart.” Yeah, His Words struck my mind and I knew this was the purpose for God to send me here - to share his great works. How God led me through my previous unpleasant experience has helped me to grow stronger and closer to God.

We completed this mission trip after a visit to the fourth village. It was a fruitful trip as every one of us learned to share God’s great love to the villagers and overcome our weaknesses through the help of God. This mission trip experience has strengthened our faith to be God’s vessel in sharing His Good News. Let’s keep the villagers in our prayer that God will continue to watch over them and provide their daily needs and Holy Spirit will continue to move among them and help them to grow stronger in God each day. Pray also for the Pastor for wisdom to preach God’s messages to the people around Him and journey mercy each time he travels on the road to different villages.

a Visit to Berkat Children's Home

It was on a Saturday morning, 27th of March, 2010 that a team of people visited the Berkat children’s home at No.44A, Jalan Dapat Kampong Baru, JB to show their care for the kids and to convey to them the story of Easter. The team consisted of Wei Ting, Wei Cheng, Ye Chow, Chin Lee, Ivy Tan, Zoe Lim, Choo Teen, Eunice, Pearly, Tiffany, Chi En, Ee Kiat, Patrick, Gerald and Jey Shin. With the money contributed by TnT, we bought cooking oil, rice, biscuit and milo for the children.

As some of the older children went to school that morning to receive award for academic excellence, there were only about 6 young children at the Berkat house. Therefore we played some light games to get to know each other better. After the ice breaking session, we continued with a praise and worship session led by Chi En and Chin Lee.

As we sang our last song, the other children came back just in time to join us for the song. Ivy then took charge of the next session with some group games. The games were exciting and both the children and adult enjoyed the interactive session.

After the games everybody was treated with some healthy and delicious food prepared by Ye Chow and Zoe. We took the opportunity to mix around and got to know the children better. There was laughter here and there as we chatted with the kids.

When the eating session was over the children were put into 4 groups, each consisted of 3 children and 2 adults. Jey Shin did a short presentation on the story of Easter with the aid of some pictures and assistance from Chi En and Patrick. Pictures were put in a box and taken out as the story progresses in order to capture the children’s attention.

After the short presentation, a snake and ladder game was played to test the children’s understanding of the story. The huge board game was made by Ee Kiat, Wei Ting, Wei Cheng and Chi En. Each group sent a representative to act as the moving pieces while the team members answer the questions. Each group participated eagerly and their positions in the board were very close. Finally the game ended when one of the groups managed to reach the last spot. Each group was given a prize for their participation. They also received some special gifts made by Eunice.

The session ended with group photo-taking and a prayer by one of the children. All in all, the children enjoyed the day and they managed to understand the importance of celebrating Easter.

Dear friends, please remember the person in charge Bro Raymond Choong and these children in your prayer. As most of them are Christians, do pray that they would have spiritual maturity. Aside from that, do pray that God will continue to care for their needs and lead them in their daily lives.

Salutations fellow TNT peeps! It’s our turn to do an introduction on the babies and elephants that are part of the Melodies Care Group. If you think that the bacteria in your gut are diverse in their personalities and habits, you ain’t seen our friends yet!

ur Care Group meets every Friday rain or shine at 8.30 to 10.30pm. The two main objectives of our gatherings are to: spend more time with our Heavenly Father and to chill with our fellow friends after a long day at work. It is hard work to earn your keep for five consecutive days in the week, so nothing else is better than to end the last day of work for the week with a great time! Anyway let’s get on with who’s who in Melodies Care Group!

Roy Chan
The Numero Uno, the Neo and the Qin Shi Huang of our Care Group, this guy is the leader of our group. Roy is an accomplished salesman and budding entrepreneur who can even sell you your own nose. He is always fervently rooted in the Lord and our very own walking Bible. Throw a verse at him and he will be able to throw its location in back at you. Even though a leader, he is still a great guy to hang out with, either to have a lim-teh session or shooting a few zombies in Left 4 Dead with the blokes. He is also the guy to go to when we needed any help or counsel in anything. In other words, he is the captain of our ship, the wind of our sails and the water in our toilet bowl. If you do see him anywhere, do wave at him. Who knows you might get a free teh tarik from this Mr. Nice Guy.

Grace
A demure yet extremely likeable lady, Grace will never fail to get you to like her. She is dedicated in getting to know you. It is impossible for anyone to come to Care Group for the first time without her coming up to you for a little chit-chat. And we all know that she is also playing the role of the referee, making sure that the guys in the Care Group do not get into any mischief.She is the strong pillar that the ladies in the Care Group could rely on. A conscientious optometrist in charge of her shop in Holiday Plaza, Grace will definitely welcome you to go over to get a pair of nice glasses selected by her! It is no wonder Grace is always loved by everyone she meets. At this time of writing, our dear chum has returned to pamper us with her niceness after a looooooooooong hiatus to recuperate from her treatment. Welcome back Gracie!

Thomas
Aiyoh. I still need to introduce myself meh? Put it this way, either you find me noisy, or you find me noisy. I am that famous GUY YOU HEAR BEFORE YOU SEE™. I’m going to be a teacher by June 2010, and I like to eat, to sleep, to play computer games and the colour red.

J’ffery Chua
How many of you is fortunate enough to have a servant of God in your midst every Friday/Saturday? We do. Mr Jeffo, the pastor of his flock of pixels and colours in the beautifully designed leaflets and brochures of the church, is our resident ‘Padre’ in our Melodies Care Group. His mastery of the colours from #000000 to #FFFFFF is unfathomable, and his l33t skills in graphic design have people enchanted with the leaflets he has performed his magic on. He is also the proud owner of Jovi, the cute golden retriever that girls had squealed in delight about. Let’s not forget that he has his own motley crew of mobsters in 'Mafia Wars’ on Facebook. Beware, ye facebookers!

Seow Ching
This friend of ours is our very own organic nutritionist! She is the proud co-owner of the Yogi-House in Taman Pelangi, serving up dishes of delicious organic food and offering a variety of similar products for your physical well-being. Trust me about the food. Even this meat-eater like me enjoys eating her dry charcoal noodles. It is to our benefit to have her in our Care Group made sure that we can to enjoy her famous home-made yogurt (yummy!). An avid photographer who strives to better her skills, Seow Ching is our official Care Group photographer. We usually eat politely when her camera is out of the bag. I don’t think it would be nice to have a photo with us chewing our food with our mouth open. Thankfully Seow Ching has spared us from seeing that. For now.

Wayne
You definitely can’t miss this fellow if you were to catch a glimpse of him in church. It’s not so much about his strapping barrel of a chest, but his bright radiant smile that extrudes warmth! Wayne Sua is our resident Care Bear who always make Care Group fun. His cheeky remarks and jokes never fail to make us laugh out loud, yet his reverence for the Lord never falters. He plays the guitar during our worship to help us find rest in God after a long week of work. Once a crime-fighter (not with a costume with a cape) working for the Fraud department of Citibank JB, he is now in his family business of frozen meat distribution to achieve new heights in profits. Dear Wayne is also a fantastic chef, wowing us numerous times with his delicious cookouts. His culinary talents really show whenever he mans a stall in Elim Kopitiam. There is always a long queue! Wayney boy, DO FEED US WITH MORE DELICIOUS FOOD! And serenade to us with your guitar while we enjoy your cooking!

Eevynn
Our sister in Christ is really a tough cookie. Under that easy-going and fun-loving appearance is a person who really maximise her life to the fullest! Other than working in her father’s retail business of a range of industrial equipment, she spends her time in her dream job: Diving! She has started a diving company with Howard to bring tourists to see the beautiful reefs in the region. Nothing beats working for a job that is also your passion! Other than gushing about getting sun-kissed and her underwater friends, she is also a fervent servant of the Lord. She offers her time to the Lord to lead the congregation in worship and teach little kids about God during CBC. Do let her know if you wanna try diving!

Lawrence
Our dear friend currently holds the record for being the first and only full-time missionary in the TNT! Lawrence is currently in Tibet serving as a doctor in a hospital to provide the best care to the patients there. You won’t get to see him for most of the year, except for days when he does come back to Malaysia. Even those visits are official ones of which he has meetings and other affairs to attend to. That is why we count his returns as precious opportunities to catch up with him. He has a wicked sense of humour (once grossing me out with his sincere intentions to study about skin sores), and a learned perspective of relying on God at a foreign place. So when you have your devotional, do remember to pray for our own missionary, doing his best to make the world a better place in the name of Jesus!

Howard
Another accomplished businessman, Howard is part of the established accounting software company, UBS. There is a high possibility that you are using his products. Even though his family is in Singapore, he spends most of the week being in JB tending to the branch of the company here. He is also the proud co-founder with Eevynn of their diving business. Also an avid fisherman, Howard would go to undisturbed fishing spots in his all-purpose vehicle to cast a line and wait for the BIG one. If you share his passion in reeling in the biggest catch of your life, do give him a call to arrange a trip to fishing bliss. He is the life of the party, bringing fun to the Care Group even on days when we are tired or lousy. He is the other guitarist of our cell group other than Wayne who never cease to play out comically irrelevant tunes at the weirdest timing!

Shawn
Wah. Have you ever seen a hard worker like Shawn? He must be the only guy I know who would actually reach Church at 8.00am on Sundays whenever he has his Sound ministry duties, two hours before service? He is a very responsible man with integrity. He put his best into everything he do, because he knows that it is solely for the glory of God! He is also the first treasurer that I know of who would email us an account update every month in a fancy looking Microsoft Excel file. He is also a passionate man who always proclaims the goodness of God in his life. Shawn is of course a great friend to have around. He will always be available whenever you need help and company. Truly a nice man to share a frosty beer with. Remember him when you enjoy a great time worshipping the Lord in Church every Sunday!

So-En
AKA Roy’s girlfriend, she is the only person who is allowed to give Roy pet names (especially goosebump-inducing ones). She works as an interior designer for her mother’s ID firm, spending much of her time planning for the residences of her clients. Even though she works long hours, she would still come for Care Group. She shows her care and concern to her fellow friends and makes it a point to ask about their well-being. I’m not sure about you, but I would look for her to design my living space when I get my own pad, won’t you?

Wen Mynn
Aiyoh, it is very funny that I will be describing my wife. I will try my best not to gross everyone out with my sweet nothings lah. Wen Mynn is my beautiful wife whom I adore and cherish greatly. She is a kindergarten teacher who makes sure that her students enjoy her lessons and attention. When she is not working, she spend her time serving the Lord as one of leaders of CBC, making sure that CBC runs without any hiccups every Sunday. Don’t worry if you don’t get to catch her attention on Sundays, as she is always running around to help out the different departments of CBC. A great listening ear (even to my big incessantly noisy mouth) to her friends, she is one whom you can spend the whole day doing nothing but talk. Oh ya, her hobbies are reading and napping. I hope I won’t get in trouble for writing this.

Peter
This person requires no introduction since you should either have seen him or heard him before. Why, he is none other than that Korean looking (ha.) brother who spent his Sundays making beautiful music with his guitar! Peter was one of our talented guitarists in the English service, having played for FGC for many years. If you notice the use of past tense in the above sentences, this is because our brother had gone AWOL! Haha. Well, he is in Australia right now pursuing his studies in university, and spending precious time with his mother and brother who have emigrated there. Anyway, Peter is a great fellow to hang out with (which Wayne can attest to) and a funny joker to boot. I believe his flawless complexion is due to his spontaneous bouts of laughter. Pete, we are still here if you decide to come back! Just make sure to bring some Aussie chocolates to appease the ladies and a few crates of wine for the guys too!

Hebert
Hebert will also grace our meetups whenever he is back in this part of the world with Lawrence. A well-known and loved missionary by the TEENz GAP participants, he spends most of his time travelling the world carrying the Great News with him. When he is back with us, he would indulge our inquisitive minds with his stories and miracles he had seen and participated in. In fact he brought some organic mulberry tea leaves during his last visit, picked by hardworking Vietnamese brothers and sisters! Hebert, if you are reading this, do drop by for a visit the next time you came back to our shores!

Jacky
Jacky is known for his composed demeanour and hilarious outbursts of laughter! He is good with his accounts since he is ACCA-certified! Jacky is also known to be a Mr. Since he is the first in our Care Group to get married! He has been in the TNT since its humble beginnings when we were just one cell group downtown. Too bad that he is very busy with his work and married life to be able to attend much of our gatherings. What to do when you need to work hard in order to bear as many kids as possible? Haha!

TNT Molek (Part I)

We are called the Molek Cell but the irony is that we almost hardlymeet in Taman Molek *Hehe*

The People :

Angela Kong is the overseer in this group, the 'mama' =) Fun and has a contagious laughter, she never fails to make you smile whenever she does a hearty laugh especially watching animation like Shrek3 =P There is hardly a dull moment when Angela's in the room unless you catch her in her sleep mode =S And she's the wife to Kong Boon Fei.

Boon Fei is one of our young pastors in our church for those who might be wondering who he might be. Able to catch him worship leading on Sundays and giving us a friendly handshake at the end of church services on Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons =)

Thian Yean or also known dearly to us as Yean. Our facilitator.She probably has the sweetest smile that could also probably melt an iceberg. OooOOkay, I could almost hear Yean giving me a loud'hey' somewhere in JB but hey, that's a compliment! In other words, she's has a sweet nature. A lawyer by profession and a good wife toTim =)

Sianty's an Indonesian Chinese and a mummy-to-be...hurray!She's very good in making desserts especially her yummy pudding/jelly!She's got a good pair of green hands...she enjoys gardening! She likes baking and making cookies =)Being so far from home, she would really welcome more friends.

Terence is usually busy working across the causeway. Though we miss hispresence in cell most of the time, he would bring us sweet and savourygoodies back to let us enjoy.

Eric Teong is like the Papa in the group besides being a dad tohis two lovely girls and new handsome addition to the family =)He is a dependable and helpful guy you would wanna have as afriend. Also, he is very serious in delivering sermons whenhe's rostered. You can be sure that he did his homework and researchbefore he shares it out with us all and yes, let's give himcredit for sourcing a joke or two and trying his best to make us havea laugh. And I believe that Ashley would agree. She's married toEric.

Ashley is a wonderful full-time domestic engineer and part-time FBspecialist. Note : FB - Facebook. However, she's currently busy withher third child *Yay!!* =) Ashley is rather animated when she relates something which is quite funny.

Joyce Tan is one of our youngest member and also young in the faithbut going strong for the Lord. She enjoys watching CSI, Criminal Mindsand I forgot. Heh. She's somewhat a dessert person too. She really has a hunger to know more of God's word and she enjoys bible studies.

Desmond Lum is also one of our youngest member who's an avidbadminton player who plays almost everyday. Woohoo. Yeah, you need to smash it out at the courts, call Mond as he is known to us. Also, Mond is funny and lights up a smile on our faces =) Do not be deceived by his 'quiet' disposition for he is really a witty and fun person!

Dr. David Lim is our only musician in cell who is able to play the guitar,keyboard/piano and drums. We are thankful to God that wheneverDave's playing and it makes us appreciate music during worship time.Dave is married to Nechelle.

And Nechelle is the sweetie pie in our group. A very likable and approachable person. She aspires to teach and likes children. Helpful and patient are her attributes =)

Here comes the JJ Cell!

It is really amazing to see how God connects people together and how things have been transforming in our cell over this period. Recalling on the initial phase after multiplication of cells, we had only started out with a weekly cell of 4 people. To-date, God has worked in his miraculous ways and timing which has brought many wonderful Bros & Sis from diverse parts of M’sia to make this a great cell which I truly thank God for. Truly prayers work!!!

As I take you on an interesting journey of introduction on each and every unique individual that God has gracefully placed, in uniting this Johor Jaya Cell!!

Juliana John
Our facilitator. A natural dancer. Whenever Juliana dances, her moves simply ooze a sense of gracefulness and poise which compliments her confident and jovial personality that shines through. Fully utilizing her gifting, Juliana is serving in the Eng Service Dance Ministry and as a psalmist on Sun services. Ju is an easily amused person where even the slightest remark or joke could trigger her off and excite her to giggle away non-stop. On occasions, the rest of us would be surprised by her “sudden bouts of giggles” in the midst of cell, and wait with smiling stares for her to finish with her chuckles. Encourager Ju is definitely one whom you can confide in, she provides good advices through her years of experiences, in life and spiritually. Currently, she is in marketing line and has been in search of a new career; let’s continue to pray faithfully for doors to be opened in her career path, which is to her passion and gifting.

Vincent Lum
Besides enviable good looks, Vincent is a kind and caring guy, who seeks after God’s heart earnestly, a versatile good sportsperson, and always puts others before himself. Positive and encouraging, Vince is also the typical gentleman yet the jokey that can bring smiles to your face in his witty ways. As most of you know, he serves in the Worship Ministry as a Bass guitarist on Sun services. Vince’s humility, warmth and genuine love for God and people have led him to touch many lives. Not confining to only important people around him but also people from rural areas. His recent 1-month Mission Trip to Davao, Philippines had allowed him to experience God mightily and inspired him further in his spiritual journey. Rejuvenated after a long break, he has just embarked on his new career with a property valuation company. We thank God for this opened door and pray that He will continue to use Vincent mightily for the glorification of His name!

Adrian
Our responsible Treasurer whom we can entrust our entire cell’s money with. A naturally talented guitarist. Sisters! You’ll melt away when you witness Adrian passionately singing and playing his guitar simultaneously! Well, at least with good testimony, this is what he’d always quoted, “Trust me Bros..This is a surefire tactic!! That’s how I’d won my GF’s heart!!” Adrian serves in the WMM as a guitarist on Sun Services. Originates from Kluang and currently based in JB in pursuit of his career as an accountant in a renowned MNC and doing part-time ACCA course. A pious guy, whose dedication towards God has greatly encouraged me, (for years, Adrian wakes up ard 5am daily for his TAWG and revision before heading off to work)! He is also the all-time natural joker in our cell, just being his usual serious self and without even having the need to say anything; he already has the “ability” to get us bursting into uncontrollable laughter!! Friendly person, who is hardworking and committed in whatever he does. Zoe Lim
Been “exported” to Australia for nearly a decade, initially for studies and eventually work. Zoe had just returned to her dearly missed motherland last year. A Quantity Surveyor by profession back in Australia, Zoe is currently back in M’sia to assist in expanding her Bro’s business in the Insurance industry and also to further develop herself in this line. A cheerful, fun-loving and optimistic sister, who is determined, and always gives her best in whatever she’s committed to excel in. Whenever Zoe introduces herself in cell, she likes to particularly enunciate her name clearly by repetitively articulating her name to the receiver, “I’m ZoE, ZoE and its ZoE, taking note, without the Y”, with her big smiley expression. Certainly, this “trademark” of hers has always managed to put smiles across everyone’s faces. We pray that Zoe will continue to experience & know God deeper in time.

Nicholas Tan
For the record, Nick has represented both Selangor and Ipoh as a state swimmer. “A sports freak”, which many have jokingly named him, obviously, also another all rounder in sports. Nick, whose athletic build, lively and enthusiastic demeanor shades a boyish vitality. As the gregarious Nicholas revealed, his “only entertainment”-- sports, all kinds of sports, you name it!! Originating from Ipoh and then living in KL in his later years, currently relocated to JB unaccompanied, in favor of his new found job in sales. As the saying goes, “Do not judge a book by its cover”… On first impression, Nick might appear to be “cheeky”, attributable to his vivacious appearance. But as you get to know the real him that lies beneath, you’ll find him an amiable, absolutely humorous and fun person! Let’s pray that God continues to strengthen Nick in all his endeavors ahead, especially being a first jobber straight out of school and in a new place distant from his loved ones.

WeiKang
The Organizer!! The Cell’s “Alarm Clock”!!! Proactively, voluntarily taking initiatives to organize activities in our cell, be it someone’s Bday, cell outings or weekly tennis sessions. He’s always the first to mass e-mail everyone in generating of ideas, delegation of tasks and putting everything in place systematically. A Project Engineer by Profession, so that elucidates him for being an efficient, systematic and meticulous person. Choo originates from Segamat and is presently in JB, due to vocation. Entertaining at all times, he often comes up with amusing and witty remarks, responses and expressions unpredictably, sometimes even in the midst of ongoing serious discussions, which needless to say, get us cracking in laughter!! Jolly, chatty and friendly by nature, our cell’s “informal” tennis coach is also a competent sportsman in “racquet” games. May our dependable Choo continue to have a closer and deeper walk with God as he experiences more of His Goodness in this exciting journey of Christian faith!

Edwin Loh
Articulate and eloquent. Edwin is one of our new brothers in the cell! Originated from Sabah, resided in KL for 10 years and presently here to pursue his career advancement in HR line. Been in JB since 2005, it is only recently that God has opened doors to place him in a CG in JB and he is truly glad that it is the TNT JJ Cell! Edwin finds it uplifting through witnessing the love and hunger in which JJ Cell has evidently displayed for God thus far. He is also thankful that the members in JJ cell whom he has met are a bunch of lively and friendly young adults! Our knowledgeable bro here is a passionate Christian who always has a burning desire to know God deeper. Edwin’s participation as well as sharing in cell discussions is much commendable. Despite staying far, he looks forward to attend cell weekly. Truly, we salute Edwin’s dedication and willingness to travel such distance in order to make it for cell! Pray that God cont to use Edwin as a living example for his testimony!

Serene Lau
Rooted from distant Penang Serene runs her own foreign recruitment business. She started out with a compassionate heart for the 3rd world countries nationals, and eventually has a calling in life to lend them a helping hand to achieve a better life. Therefore, her mission for establishing this business is to help workers from lesser developed countries in securing a job in M’sia, having a source of income and thus able to provide a better life for themselves and their families back in their homeland. A sister, who possesses a sharing heart, is encouraging and funny. Often overflowing with enthusiasm and high spirits, this is especially evident whenever Serene speaks or laughs excitedly. Pray that her business will continue to prosper and most importantly accomplish her calling in the mission field where their needs are the strongest.

Lloyd Ho
Indeed a unique individual in his own distinctive ways. Lloyd is often the one who always has a very different perspective, ideas, thoughts and commentaries from others. Apparently, Lloyd tends to be quieter in big groups and is often noticed sitting in one corner, smiling and nodding concurrently, going along with the flow of the cell discussions. Conversely, he appears to be more conversational in small groups or during one to one exchange. A candid person, who speaks his mind openly, is a polite and soft spoken guy, always in good time and undeniably a good listener. Evidently committed to cell, constantly looking forward to our weekly CG and tries not to miss any cell related activities. Pray for good time management between his studies and part-time job as an English teacher.

Madelyn Tain
Another fun-loving, outgoing and sporty lass in our Cell! A law student, currently in pursue of her degree in Law. Mad’s calling in life is to touch people’s lives and to help others in her best ability. Serving in CBC worship and teaching ministry and filled with immense passion to touch the lives of kids for fear that they might be lost in the lies of the devil in their growing up years. The once shy gal had triumphed over her shyness and turned into a positive and optimistic person in all her endeavors. May God’s blessings, guidance and wisdom be upon her in every area of her life, especially in the area of her studies which is her core priority now.

Dawn Kuang
Congratulations to our ladylike Sis here who just got married happily to Bro Edward! Dawn is a calm and cool woman with few words, who often does not display much of her emotions nor expressions. However, if you get to know her better, you’ll find she is one whom you can enjoy a good chat with. A health conscious person who enjoys whipping up healthy treats and mixing juices for her meals. Often busy with work yet a homely person who loves staying home to enjoy a good book, playing the piano and doing handicrafts. Our talented pianist Dawn works in a bank and serves as a keyboardist on Sun services. Pray for an everlasting, blissful & God-centered marriage for the newly blessed wedded couple!

Philips Wong
Congratulations to Philips for accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior during the recent water baptism and we gladly welcome him to the family of God!! Apparently, Philips is a man with few words, especially quiet and shy in big groups as well as during group discussions. However that is just the surface when you barely know him, as you get to know him better, the real him underneath is in fact a nice chap to talk to and could hold a good conversation with, is someone who would take initiatives to approach you for a friendly chat. He’s just simply more comfortable in small groups and around people whom he’s familiar with. Lately, Philips has been extremely busy with his sales & marketing job and we have not seen him in cell for some time. Nevertheless, we’ll continue to pray for this Bro and we warmly welcome him back to cell anytime.

WeiFeng
Another Engineer in our Cell! WeiFeng is currently working in SG. He serves as a guitarist in the Bilingual services. An enthusiastic Christian, whose humility and warmth shines through his personality, through his behavior and speeches. A hardworking guy who has very strong determination in achieving his plans and goals in life, which is highly admirable – (Have a chat with him about his walk through his studies & career; you’ll get to know why!). One of the most responsible and committed persons I have met, who is a true example of “One who delivers his words”. Wei Feng’s life experiences with God and his zeal for God is truly encouraging. Pray for God’s guidance and favors in his newly found job with a well-known MNC and also his preparations for the upcoming Christmas performance.

Joseph Choo
An IT Engineer, who originates from Penang and is currently based in JB to work on a short-term project. Jo is actually a friend of mine, Vince & Ju, introduced through an adventurous Christian ministry back in ’08. It is heartwarming and encouraging for him to have some Christian friends and a cell to be attached with during his posting period here. Do not be deceived by Jo’s composed outlook, he is one adventurous and athletic guy, who not only loves sports but is also competent in several of them. He even participated in several marathons, is an experienced cyclist, often takes part in camp activities, and enjoys rock climbing and scuba diving. Jo is a practical guy who often has insightful and wise sharing towards life, God & etc. Pray that Jo’s short term project will have a successful completion & he’ll have a wonderful experience during his short stay here despite of his busyness in work.

Ashley
Welcome to our new Sister in Cell! Ashley has just returned back to her homeland here from Australia, where she pursued her studies for the past 2 years. A really cheerful girl, always seen carrying this warm and wide smile on her face. I can still vividly remember on my first encounter with her, we were able to click immediately and already chatting away like long time buddies. She’s truly an approachable person and one who holds her conversations really well. Despite being new, Ashley is very participative in CG, often actively engages in sharing and voicing out her opinions. She is currently working for her Dad’s company, humbly learning the ropes from bottom. Pray for God’s continual guidance and sustaining in her life ahead.

Danny Chen
Dedicated and committed in serving the young people of today with all his heart and soul. Danny is articulate and knowledgeable in many aspects. You’ll be surprised by his intellect when you strike a conversation with him. We have not seen him around for some time as he has been extremely busy with studies and ministries serving. Pray that Danny could join cell more often and we would always welcome him with open arms.

Ivy Tan
The writer of this article. I’ve the pleasure of doing this write-up on behalf of my cell.
Now, I shall be ‘thick-skinned” and write about myself based on the comments consolidated from my fellow cell members. As described by my cell mates, a sunshine, and adventurous girl who loves to be under the delightful sun and enjoys outdoor activities. Ivy is one bubbly girl who is often seen with full of smiles and laughter, also another one in the cell who often crack us up big time with her wittiness and remarks! Found to be an optimistic and inquisitive person, with good communication and social skills by her friends. She loves and has the passion and burden for children and is praying for her mission towards this ministry. Do help Pray for God’s guidance, wisdom and good juggling between both her work and studies, in spite of the busyness and pressures.

Lastly, a Big Thank You to all my beloved cell members for the love, encouragement and wonderful fellowships we shared.

RUBBER BAND - to remind you to be flexible. Things might not always go the way you want, but it will work out.

How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He's the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him. Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) A woman, a Samaritan, came to draw water. Jesus said, "Would you give me a drink of water?" (His disciples had gone to the village to buy food for lunch.)

MING HUI
Ming Hui is the main facilitator of our cell group that is held on every Saturday morning. She is a wise lady who is ever ready to offer godly advice to those who approaches her. She is working in Singapore as an IT project manager. Amidst her busy working schedule, she managed to find time to serve as an usher and visual media support. She is also like a mother to the cell group for she encourages cell members to attend meeting on a regular basis. At times, she would also treat the cell group to a nice lunch. Good to have a facilitator such as her right!

JIT MUN
Jit Mun is the co-facilitator. Information Technology (IT) is definitely his field. He commutes to Singapore for work daily. Jit is a man of very few words, however, he would sometimes “shock” people with some profound words. If you don’t know him well you may find him serious and not approachable, but deep within is a warm and friendly man waiting to be discovered. By the way, he cooks quite well and his forte is western food. On the family side, he is a loving father of the 7 months old baby Charlotte and a responsible husband too.

NATALIE
Oh yes, I am Jit Mun’s legal wife. We met in cell group and were married in 2007. I was working as a lawyer but I have since quit my job and become a stay-at-home mum after the arrival of our daughter, Charlotte. To me, taking care of baby Charlotte somehow is more rewarding than being a lawyer. Nevertheless, I still hope that I would be able to return to the work force someday.
Added by Ming Hui: Nat is cool outwardly but very warm from the inside. She is very compassionate for the lost and is willing to reach out to pre-believers anytime especially towards old Teochew ladies. If you have grandma who can understand Teochew, I will recommend Nat.

MAX
Max, also known as Yu Wei, is working in Singapore as a designer. It is not hard to tell that he is an artistic person. If you need someone to design a T-shirt or shoes, just call Max. He is always the joker in the cell group who he likes to pass funny comments that often make people burst into laughter. If you need someone to cheer you up, he is someone who is alert and sensitive to reach out to you and support you. At home, he is also a filial son and a caring brother too. Hmm… I know, look can be very deceiving sometimes.

GRACE
If you have not known her, get to know her! She is one of those that would stay by your side when you are down and speak encouraging words when you need them. She may give people a wrong impression that she is weak and vulnerable, actually she is stronger than you know. Grace is an optometrist by profession and is helping up in her dad’s business. She is a sister who has great faith in God and a model for us to follow. She is a living example of “In everything give thanks” even when going through chemotherapy. Brother and sister, let’s shower our sister here with lots of encouraging words, love and care, for this is what we are called to do, and support her with heaps of prayer for speedy complete recovery and restoration.

CELINE
Celine is a new addition to our cell group. Congratulations on her recent decision to follow Jesus’ example in water baptism and lets’ welcome her to our big fantastic family! Celine is an energetic and cheerful girl. She is doing her law degree at the moment, a future lawyer too. At same time, Celine also takes up part-up jobs as a teacher in the tuition center as well as a part-time singer in the café. We have not had the privilege to listen to her singing but sure hope we would get a chance to listen to her soon.

CRYSTAL
Crystal is working in the banking sector (home loans) in Johor Bahru. Someone who is passionate in providing the best service to her customers and placing her trust in God to bring customers to her. She joins us whenever she is not required to do roadshow on a Saturday. Besides, having many “lubang-s” for cheap and nice properties, her cheerful outlook and sincerity will make you feel that you are in trustworthy hands. If you are looking out for properties, Crystal is the one that you should contact. Crystal is now expecting and will be promoted as a mummy in the next few months and this means this cell group will have 2 babies soon.

Our cell group is on Saturday morning to cater for those who are unable to make it on Friday evenings. We are small enough to know everyone and big enough to go for a good meal together. Do drop by for a relaxing, stress free and good time of fellowship in the Lord.

Hup Two
“Friend, how are you?” is his favorite phrase. A knowledgeable businessman who knows a lot about how many industries operate and function in the market. A father of two, who is always committed to his family. He can be just like a big kid playing around with his 2 sons like friends and yet he can also discipline the kids well. When it comes to fun and jokes, he is the creator of most of them. If you visit church on Sunday, you can also see him playing bass for Sunday English Service. A Cell Overseer who has a lot to share about God, always putting God in his 1st place. Definitely a man worth knowing!

Yee Voon
You can also address her as Mrs Chang. You are right and she is Hup Two’s wife. Even though she always said that she is old, but nobody can actually get her correct age. In fact, she is young at heart. Though she has to take care of her 2 sons, she still takes good care of all the cell members in Perling. A very caring and motherly sister. She makes sure that all of us eat healthily, which is less sugar, less oil and less salt. She is also a very good counselor to talk to because she has more experience to share. Visit our cell one day and I bet you will love her like our cell does :D

Jack
An optimistic guy who always share the joy and love of the LORD in cell. He likes to crack “cold” jokes in cell and we love them as well. We miss Jack’s ice breaker time, because he is the one who always come out with lots of rare ice breakers. Vividly still remember that he introduced us a “disgusting” game i.e. he asked us to chew the chewing gum and then ask us to create something from the chewing gum on the cardboard. Despite his funny side, Jack is actually a brother full with patience and love. He can go through the encyclopedia with the kids. Sometimes, he even needs to answer their “strange and funny” questions. Having Jack around in cell is really nice. Jack, good job and keep it up!

Shu Jing
My secretary in cell. Always do things secretively, but always at the best interests of the cell group members. She always helps the cell chores where the cell facilitator overlooks. You may be guessing, “Who is the Perling cell facilitator?” A very meticulous person who always remember every details of the cell member. Birthday card, word of encouragement and cakes are all produced by Shu Jing. Hmm, how can you guys don’t know her? Haha.

Lay Hoon
If your dog is sick, you can approach her. If you need to go for a movie, you can call her. Our Perling Cell Program Organizer. Due to cost control, Perling cell has yet to produce any name card for her. She is a vet by profession. Love animals and love people as well. And a person who actively involved in cell groups and church services. A devoted Christian whom God has used her to bring lots of people around her entering His kingdom. E.g. her two (2) colleagues have now joined our FGC and become members of God’s household.

Chris
Lifen’s colleague. A vet as well. An outgoing person who likes to climb mountains and diving into the sea. Enjoy outdoor activities very much and that explains her complexion. A quiet person who don’t really talk much. She is a new Christian baby who is really hungry for God and actively seeking Him. She is very serious in everything. This can tell from how she prepare for our most recent Bible Quiz. She burn mid-night oil to study the Bible, even she is just taking only one chapter. THUMBS UP! We are really impressed and encouraged by you!

Ken
If you need a ride home, he will deliver you back home safely. A responsible person who can make a good husband. Ke Tyng, you are blessed. Works diligently for his family business and a man after God’s heart. Ken is well known for his manners. Never ever seen him raise his voice to anyone because the way he speaks can be really soft. A very patient guy as well. Just from the way how he baby-sit his nephew, you can be sure that he will be a good and caring father in future.

Serene
Work as a company secretary in Singapore. Her future plan is to study MBA back in UK. Young girl but has a big dream. Pray that her dream will come true. Very generous lady where she bought souvenirs for ALL the members in her last Thailand trip. Sweet :p A very outgoing young lady who loves shopping. Not just her I guess. In her last Bangkok trip, she spent the least amount of time shopping. But in the end, she is the one who bought the most. Sisters who love shopping and bargaining, please look for her. She knows where to grab the best deal in town.

Siew Ching
Production Planner for semi-conductor manufacturer. A well informed girl who knows about Malaysia politics and news happening around the globe. Actively seeking for new job. Out of her busyness, she still chooses to be actively involved in our cell group activities and outing! It shows that she is really working hard to adapt to new environment and faces. She is also very hungry to know more about the Lord through prayers and Bible. Impressive !

Shan

A quiet guy who thinks deep in his mind. “Still Water Runs Deep.” Keke.. Working as Lift Technical Support in Singapore, you can be sure you will be out of the lift within the shortest period of time! Shan is a new-born Christian who is born in the church’s first Alpha Course. Praise God! A new born Christian who is fervently chasing after God’s presence. I pray that he will continue to learn more of God’s word and be a wonderful testimony for the Lord. Gambette !

Choon Siang
Writer of this article. Perling Cell Facilitator who always laze around. An accountant by profession. Very careless in completing tasks but still managed to complete them. :p
Because of all my cell members, we are what we are today. And of course, thank God for allowing me to have such a wonderful cell. Given this opportunity, I would like to thank for the encouragement and love from the cell members. Indeed they are great. :D

If you are on a diet, don’t come to Pelangi Cell. Haha.. (just kidding!)

In a nutshell, Pelangi Cell Group is a place to eat ones heart out, be it physically or spiritually. You will enjoy an array of fabulous refreshments weekly and hear of the wonderful happenings in the lives of every member.

It is funny how we bond over food.
When the Cell just started, we were like walking on eggs with our words.. but now we can just go bananas and feel as warm as toast, with the love and care from the members.

Someone once said that Pelangi Cell Group should be awarded as the ‘Most Well Behaved Cell Group’… Maybe that’s because our ‘management team’ are both teachers and lawyers, and they keep the law in order! Haha…

Here are some fun facts about US!

The Overseer – Aaron Cheng
He is a teacher in Singapore and teaches Physics.
His endurance is to be marveled, as he travels across the customs daily and can still find time to serve in many areas in church (cell leader, worship leader, drummer, chairman, interpreter etc..)
If you need any food for thought, this is the guy to talk to.
He will challenge your thoughts and perspective in life, with the word of God, and often provides very special insights during discussions.
He has surprised the cell group with his own cooked noodles, decorated with crabsticks and eggs. *woot*

The Facilitator – Sinloong
Whenever Sin Loong is around, everything will be in order! Haha…
She is an extremely well organized lawyer, who provides legal counsel to a Singapore IT firm, who remembers every members birthday and never fail to buy the right presents, make beautiful cards and send sms to remind us of our duties & the word of God, take time to care and find out our individual needs and pray for us, if we are absent from cell, she would send heart warming sms and make sure we stay close in fellowship.
She buys the most interesting food and keeps us in touch with latest food frenzy in Singapore (eg. ‘Pie Kia’). We all appreciate having her because she really has her fingers in the pies of our lives.

Carol makes the best Tiramisu in town! Our dessert expert!
She is learning to be an accountant in NTU, and is currently very busy with her schoolwork and also the Christian Fellowship in the campus.

She speaks very accurate mandarin and is one of the only ones I know, who asks for a tissue as (zhi3 jing1) and straw as (xi1 guan3).
She has the gift of singing and is a worship leader in the English Service.

Terence is a fine young man in his salad days.
He is a very talented guitarist, vocalist and song writer, and we are very blessed to have him to enhance the praise & worship experience.
He is currently studying in NIE and will be nurturing kids about Maths and Physics.
Terence is an open book. He helps the cell to open up by being open and shares about everything that he is going through in his life. We are very encouraged by his faith and life experiences.

Stella is as nutty as a fruit cake! Also known as the ‘louder’ one in cell group, she kinda feel obligated to talk softer because almost everyone in cell group talks soooo softly! Haha.
She is a Marketing Exec for her family business and has very irregular working schedule. She serves in the TEENz as cell leader and worship leader and always rubs her nose.
Stella appreciates the fact that TNT and the cell group has always been so supportive and providing strength, fellowship, guidance and advice at different stages of her life, which is very crucial in making or breaking a person.

Chrytz is as cool as a cucumber. You have to take time to know her before you discover the warmth that she shares unselfishly.
She is an Accountant and lately she is very busy with her family business.
She is very passionate about the Word and often listens to Online Sermon.
She has had many faith-challenging moments in her walk with Christ.
Way to go Chrytz!

Sally is a hard nut to crack, because she is a very quiet girl.
HOWEVER, she is very willing to share with you if you know how to ask the right questions!
She is studying Business and Marketing in Sunway College. She loves Japanese food and brings sushi for refreshment! She is a pinky and “bling bling” girl who loves to paint her nails and decorate her mobile and laptop’s cover with the shining shining diamond stickers!
Sally has one of the sweetest smiles that will brighten any gloomy days! Check it out!

Rae is the new kid on the block. Rae is an adventurous person who enjoys water sports, softball and pool!
Rae is a new Christian and currently in Penang.
Rae went through a very difficult period before coming to know the Lord. In Rae’s distress while Rae was in JB, Rae came to know about the cell group and found love and support in the community of Christ.
It is here Rae found freedom and love. Keep Rae in your prayers because Rae is still looking for a suitable cell group in Penang.

Ah Zou is a meat and potato person. He enjoys simple pleasures in life and is always very helpful.
He just graduated from EEE in Ngee Ann Polytechnic and just got his offer to study in NTU. He has won numerous competitions especially in the recent Robotic Championship in Japan.
The greatest miracle he has experienced recently is an answered prayer for the salvation and healing of his mother. We have witnessed how God moved and worked in the lives of the people he loves.
We learn that His timing is always perfect. Never too late. Never too early.

WeiCheng is like a recipe book that can turn the normal ingredients into mouth-watering dishes. She likes to surprise us with her cooking skills and her new invention (like porridge stuffed in steamed red apples… lol).
She is very soft spoken and gentle but she does stand firmly on her opinions sometimes. If you get to know her better, she has heaps of new ideas and weird thoughts too!
She is meticulous and very responsible with the duties that were given to her, she gave us color printed sermon note! She is passionate about the little kids and serving faithfully in CBC and Elim.

WeiTing is a paddlepop! Colourful, energetic and creative~
She has just been awared Silver Medal from Ngee Ann Poly and is offered a place in NUS doing Industrial Design.
She experienced God’s power during her 3 months attachment in NanJing, China. She brought back the zeal and fire for God and it was contagious. The whole CG was excited because of her sharing and the great things God has done through her.
Other than cooking, she has burden for little kids as well, and she also hopes to have the opportunity to serve the people in China.

Jey Shin is a legal drug dealer!
He is a scorer in school and is actually a Chemist who wanted to be a Chemist, but was offered the position as ‘Sales Chemist’. Since then, he has had many interesting experiences where God was able to mould him and challenge him in life.
Quiet as he seems, he is a very observant guy. There was once where we all had to choose 1 person to encourage in the cell group. Just ONE.
But our dear Jey Shin was so encouraging, he find difficulty encouraging just ONE person. He actually encouraged EVERYONE in the cell group by pointing out the strength he observed in everyone.
WOW. Cell group ended around 12.45am that day. But it was one of the most unforgettable days.

Gerald is one smart cookie who just came back from Australia! Another Accountant!
He drives from Singapore to JB for cell group (almost) every week, and makes yummy sandwiches.
He may look very gentle on the outside, but wait till you see him play rugby!
He is currently working at a recruitment agency and he will be serving his National Service (NS) in the Singapore Army soon.

Ee Kiat captures precious moments in life.
He is a man with few words, responsible and is very passionate about photography.
Perhaps he expresses his emotions through the pictures he captures.
He is currently studying Business Administrative in Sunway College.
He is one of those guys who keep their cars really clean, neat and nice smelling.
*gain brownie points* haha..

Patrick was an Engineer but is now working as a Financial Analyst.
Despite being the only child and the first Christian at home, Patrick is a God-chaser who is young in faith but wanting to love God with all his heart.
He is generous in giving, loving and caring for the people around him. He enjoys crappy jokes and his laughter is contagious.
He has a burden for the kids and just joined CBC as guitarist. He initiated the CG to visit orphanage to provide helps and to give tuitions to the orphans.

Lawrence is our new friend brought by Sally.
Lawrence is working in Singapore as an Accountant (wow, another accountant in our CG!) and always very busy during month end closing. He has been faithfully atending the CG for 2 months and now he has formed an important part of this family. He enjoys the food, the fun and fellowship in CG and our desire is to see his heart be touched by God and accept Him into his life and to see the great things God is going to do in him and through him

The Sentosa

I have visited several cell groups and after a few observations, I have come to a conclusion that each of us are truly unique and each group, like wine, produces varying degrees of characteristics from different territories. How we are grown, where we are grown, and when we are harvested, all makes us truly one of a kind, and I believe each and everyone of us have our own purpose and reason to be in our groups at this very moment.

I have here a few pictures of a cell group from Sentosa that may not make sense.

There you have it. Melodies cell and all our quirkiness. Here's a little run through of our members and what they do.

Titus

Main facilitator. Also the doting and loving and warm and nice and generous and role model of the cell group. If you have any questions answered, just shoot. If you have anything to share, just tell. And if you have an opinion you want to seek, just ask. If you always feel like you need to make a more solid decision, Titus can help. This is because he base his decisions based on his experience as well as the Pros and Cons. Titus is a very matured leader in Christ and he has strong leadership qualities. To handle our sometimes rowdy and noisy cell group, it takes more than just a man to handle and God has provided for us and gave us Titus whom we truly appreciate. Currently working in Singapore as an engineer and is attached to our lovely Jaelyn. Pray for their marriage in less than a year from now.

Ng Chai Yan

Our assistant facilitator. Yan works like clockwork and has the memory of a computer. At least one day of a week, she never fails to send all CG members an email or a text message to remind us to pray for one another. Also the first to volunteer assistance whenever in her power. Yan is like a brother in many of our eyes because she is able to relate to the guys which is a gift. She knows how to complement jokes and makes people feel comfortable around her. She is one of the most efficient people I've ever met and that translates into a good organiser for all kinds of events. A truly awesome complement to our dear Titus.

Cornelius Wong

The guitarist and often the guy who always have a very different perspective, point of view, and commentary on every topic from short talks to religion. Makes the group see things in new light. He is also the guitarist of our cell group who enhances the praise and worship session. Fu Yau is a very smart person who is going to graduate from university soon and is supporting himself as a computer consultant. Fu Yau inspires me to have more soul and he teaches me to have flavour in the things that I do. He knows a lot of random facts that are interesting and we really appreciate having him in our cell.

Wen Jiuan

The nurse who has a passion for helping people. She is also the partner to one of our most eligible bachelors who is now no longer single, Mr Wong. Wen Jiuan is always concerned about her members and also offers her expertise on healthcare topics. Also always very open to new ideas and willing to converse it deeper with the host. We just hope that she will get to come to CG more often but that is unpredictable because she has to do shifts for her job. Well, we'll always keep her in our prayer.

Jaelyn

Our homecoming queen who is now attached to our facilitator Mr. Chan Tai Tat. In our cell group, she is the humble and modest one. Being a lawyer, often, you have to always argue your point with strong support but this is not what our Jaelyn is like. She is approachable, friendly, and caring. Once in a while, she will surprise us with an email asking how we are doing as well as updating how she is doing as well. Currently seeking a job in another firm so please pray for her! Also, pray that for her readiness in settling down in less than a year from now.

Chin Lee

She is our catalyst as well as the BEST GUITARIST IN THE WORLD!!! Cell without Chin Lee is like a bulb without its filament. Chin Lee brightens up everybody's day without even trying! Although she may appear to be unenthusiastic and dull at times, she is still very funny. Actually she has a heart of gold but it's buried quite deep within. Also, she is one of the best eligible candidates for tasteful single men. We are hoping that she will not be single by the end of this year.

Ye Chow

The first few things that come into our minds when we think about Ye Chow would be motherly, good cook, genuinely concerned, generous, and always putting others before herself. Ye Chow is a modest woman of God. Her desire for Him has given her the gift of seeing visions and it even comes with with God's commentary! Ye Chow is also special in the way that she hold a conversation regarding everything under the sun with you. You will find that she is a very open and easy-going person the moment you talk to her. Ye Chow is currently studying to become a qualified nurse as she has the calling to work as a nurse in 3rd world countries. Pray that God will truly use her as way to reach out to the unsaved. We are also hoping that a prince in shining armour will whisk her away on a white stallion to a castle far far away then. :)

Wei Peng

Or Apple as we may know her. Wei Peng is our bible quiz champion and we are wondering if she should take up Theology. Wei Peng is a very passionate person who really shows her desire for God. You can see it by the way she speaks, the things she does, and the way she thinks. She likes to share her experience with God to bless us and we are always so amazed by the way God communicates with her. This is because she is very transparent with God. She is not perfect but because she is open and always have a good relationship, God helps her get up on her feet again everytime she falls. Also a nurse, she has a lot of experience in putting needles into human veins / arteries. Also currently heavy laden with assignments so do pray for her!

Maggie

She may appear to be quiet and demure on first impressions but after a good few days of knowing her, you will realise that she can be quite mean (it's a good thing) and not as innocent as you thought. Haha. But we are all human and we should never judge anybody by the way he/she looks right? Maggie is (wait for it) a nurse as well, and she is very helpful. You can see her 99% of the time at Elim Kopitiam whenever TnT has a stall set up. She is as nice as a person as her uber awesome cheesecake. You talk about anything from funny jokes to intellectual conversations with her. Maggie is also a very eligible female candidate for marrying especially with her expertise in handling the job scopes of a housewife. She has a heart of serving as well which is why she went to Tibet to save the lost. Pray for her well being as well because she is suffering from altitude sickness.

Raymond

Remember the last time you trusted somebody with all your secrets because you knew that he/she is a person who is worthy of your trust and would not tell it to anybody? Remember the last time somebody promised you to do something and he actually did it well? Well, I think of Raymond. He is like a private safe where he keeps all your secrets with him and it never gets out. Raymond is such a passionate and enthusiastic about God. You can see that energy that shows in his face. The smile and the joy that is so contagious. Raymond is a man willing to sacrifice a lot for the sake of others, just like Jesus, but because he is human too, he has his shortcomings of which we can relate to. But he really tries his best and we see his effort, therefore, we feel that Raymond is truly one of a kind. The kind that really shows the love of God not by word of mouth, but by action which is the louder than words. Also, he has a neat HDTV in his home which has colours beyond your imagination. I really dig his TV.

Victor Tan Kai Chi

Always the bearer of very funny cold jokes as well as a very visual communicator with God. Victor has a very unique gift that is expressing himself in art forms. His two strongest anointing are music and poetry. God gives him something, he processes it, and shares it with the rest of us from the stage and from his blog. To us, Victor is a very special person in our eyes because he has such a character that is so likeable, so clever, yet so modest. We have a lot to learn from him. :) Currently, he's a busy dude working 42 hours a day so he has to skip CG sometimes, but we always welcome him with open arm. Pray that his workload will lessen as well.

Ke Tyng

Although she is more or less with Ken's cell group now but I will never forget the times spent at her home at Jln Maju. Ke Tyng is the mature and gentle one amongst all of us. Everytime we talk about inappropriate things or go off topic a few hundred miles, she will bring us back to where we were. She has so many things to tell us, her past experience before she knew God and the difference now that she is a believer. On her own, she is already a testimony. Ke Tyng has a passion for nurturing our future which is why she has decided to teach in a primary school in Singapore as well as joining CBC as a teacher. She has the gift to relate to children and this is important because children are such difficult things to understand.

Pei Pei

The youngest amongst all of us. She is a very mature woman of her age (18) and from a general point of view, she enjoys serving God. We are always so happy to help her because we know that this is for the greater good. Pei Pei knows how to plan things and get people moving. We would be happy to see her through her early TnT years but she will be going away to study and will be back a few years later. We are all praying for her future.

Joyce

Our new member who is still young in Christ but wins all of us in reading his word! Joyce is just getting to know who this Jesus is all about and everyday, she is getting to know Him better. She does not speak much and that's because she ponders a lot. We always appreciate her sharing and questions. This gives us an opportunity to see things from a different point of view and it reminds us again of what it's like to be a young Christian, and the reason why we are. Joyce is a really nice person as well as she is willing to help all the time and she doesn't complain. We are truly blessed to have her in our cell.

Alan

Tries to make it for cellgroup most of the time but haven't been able to due to work. He enjoys playing the guitar for cg, answering questions from the sermon, savour the refreshments prepared, while catching up with everybody. This cell group gives him the reason to have hobbies and allows him to take a break from the daily stress we face in the working world. He really appreciate having a great bunch of people to gather together every week to spend time with.

Become Extraordinary

Did you know that God wants to use you to do the extraordinary?

Throughout the Bible, God has used ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things for Him. People like Joseph, who was a dreamer, and despite being stuffed into a cistern and sold as a slave by his jealous brothers, became the Prime Minister of Egypt and saved both Egypt and the the nation of Israel from starvation and obsolescence. How does something that powerful happen? It takes the faith of an ordinary man like Joseph, to overcome the difficulties that others cause in their life, to have God empower them to accomplish the amazing things that they otherwise might never happen been able to do.

Another example is Paul. Did you know that Paul was one of the biggest enemies of Christianity before he himself became one? Paul traveled all over the cities around Israel seeking out Christians and having them jailed and killed, until he met God one day on his way to Damascus. God literally knocked him off of his horse. As Paul fell to the ground wondering what was happening, God asked him why he was persecuting and killing His people. Paul was blinded for the moment and was so frightened by the thought that God was actually speaking to him, immediately confessed his sin and accepted God's challenge to begin starting building churches. Paul ended up starting more churches than any of the apostles.

One of God's favorite words is impossible.
Why? Because God is so good at making what looks impossible become the possible in our lives. All He asks is that we believe in Him and that He has the power to do that for ordinary people who have big faith.

So, become extraordinary. Be available and willing to do whatever God wants you to accomplish, knowing that He has the power to do it. All He wants from us is to have faith, trust in Him and believe He will do it.

It was a wonderful evening.

5.50pm........
Grace, Milla, Ming Hui, Boon Fei & Angela already at Elim. While Fu Yau and his team was in Canaan for praise and worship rehearsal. Grace was there to prepare fruits and drinks, while the rest were chatting. slowly more and more people arrived. but not the food. So Yan quickly called Sin Loong (who was in KL for her best friend's wedding) and found out that the caterer will be late.

6.35pm........
Finally the food arrived and everyone quickly line up for food. well, the 'Usher' team served the food and the suppose everyone was hungry so the comment on the food was 'very delicious' dinner menu: friend chicken wing, nasi lemak, fried beehun, curry pork rib, mix veg, curry puff, popiah, fruits... few tables were formed and everyone seemed enjoying the food and the fellowship.

7.15pm........
All adjourn to Canaan Hall as Fu Yau and team led all of us into time of worship the musicians were almost all from Titus' group (wow, they can form one band) then Eric (from Thian Yean's group) shared his testimony. how God taught him to tithe and trusting in God. His tagline: Life without Jesus is dark & bleak.

Followed by Boon Fei's vision casting. the direction of TnT and plans for 2009. 1st of all, the strengths and weaknesses of the group. we are very hospitable and helpful but weak in evangelism, prayer life and personal relationship with God.
For 2009, TnT is going to focus on building up spiritfual life for each individual. in order to acheive, he'll restart the TTWG (time together with God) on Thurs morning. also, every TnT member will read a book together so that we all can learn the same truth together. there'll be 4 times of prayer drive, 2 times in big group, the other 2 times in smaller group.

Boon Fei quoted Act 13:36 For when David had served God’s purpose in his generation, he fell asleep, he was buried with his fathers and his body decayed.And he encourage everyone to grow strong in the Lord and seek to serve God's purpose for our generation and trust God to use the TnT to impact the world.

8.50pm........
Benny was invited to give his 'last speech'. nothing emotional but in fact he was trying to encourage everyone to serve the Lord as the Lord showed him that God will continue to grow TnT. He ended with Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. after his speech, we presented him a gift from the TnTs - water heater and memoirs of Benny. Then Christine led all of us to pray for Benny and Sara.

9.10pm........
almost all went over to Elim to finish up the food and fellowship with Benny & Sara. seemed like really gonna miss each other so much that everyone just tried their best to talk to them.

10.20pm........
Benny & Sara left for KL. and soon, everyone went home. it was a heartwarming annual dinner. it was quite different from the previous one. from dinner time to praise & worship & supper time, was so warm and nice. Probably because by now lots of us know each other better. looking forward to 2009!

ever wonder what else does 'TnT' stands for?
actually it really represents us in many ways...
Tea and Tea - we meet up for mamak a lot (",)
Talk and Talk - as young ppl, we love to talk and express ourselves!
Try and Try - we tried so many things, venture into many new areas! we are risk takers

ha! the list can go on.
BUT! what it really means?

Twenties and Thirties is what we call ourselves,
but it has deeper meaning...

T - Task force: we are the task force for ministry. so far, the TnTs are involved in CBC, WMM, Bahasa svc, Elim kopitiam, TEENz, Usher, cell group, mission and other addhoc projects..
N - Nurture: (actually in the past, it only stands for AND...but now...) we want to nurture all the young people so that all will be rooted in Christ.T - Torch: we are the light and salt of this earth. Shine in the market place, so that people will know that Christ is the hope of mankind.

And do u know... TnT started with only 3 people?
And God is the one grew the ministry. today we are closely knitted together, God is bringing us to a higher ground, history making journey, becoming the real pace-setter!

So, let us not become weary in doing good, in running the race, in serving the Lord because we know that all are not in vain. When we continue to honor Him, He'll make sure our path is right!

Ground Breaking!!

Wow!
Today is the day!
a day of history...
a new mile stone...
Full Gospel Church JB officially had our 2nd ground breaking ceremony!!!
(the 1st one was more than 10 yrs ago when we build our main building)

Time: 11am
Venue: open field next to basketball courtall full time staff were told to make our way to basketball court by 11am..
but many started to move out of office @ 10.40am..
'coz it was just too hot in the office
(couldn't wait to get our from there)
(church haven't recover from Sunday's power failure)
(apparently TNB came and go without doing anything)

by 10.55am, all were there..
(plus some visitor, i.e. Salem, Uncle Chay, Uncle Seng Wah, Uncle Leonard)
Uncle Kim Tai directed the excavator and rollers to park side by side..
"let's invite Uncle Kim Tai to pray"
"主耶稣，我们感谢你................... Amen!"(very long prayer, can't remember all)

"everyone.. get ready.. take ur position"
1,2,3... 'click'
"hey, take a few more shots la..."
then we move over to excavator...
where it dug into the ground...
"ok, come over here, take a few more shots"
viola... end of ground breaking!
though it wasn't filled with miraculous sign, or powerful manifestation of God's power...
but it sets a mark...
FGC entered into a new phase...
As the construction work continues, the church is also reconstructing internally...
the leaders came and had 2 days of planning, not only for 2008 but for the next 5-10yrs...

God is moving swiftly and powerfully in FGC...
don't miss it, don't just watch it...

walking by FAITH...

Walking by faith is not easy.

When you make up your mind to trust God the odds are usually stacked against you. Remember Noah? When he built the ark there had never been rain! And the outcome isn’t always what you expect. Walking by faith doesn’t mean your problems suddenly evaporate.

Sometimes faith doesn’t change your circumstances, it changes you by giving you the tenacity to hang in there when the cheque doesn’t come in the mail, the doctor says, “It’s malignant,” your spouse asks for a divorce, the children are running riot, or the place you’ve worked in for 30 years closes its doors. Faith gives you the fortitude to endure these things, confident that God is working on your behalf. “Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for” (Heb 11:1-2 NIV).

So, walking by faith means:

(1) trusting in the faithfulness of God;

(2) following in the footsteps of ordinary people who did extraordinary things;

(3) using your faith, because it’s the currency of Heaven.

When the Bible says, “And my righteous ones will live by faith” (Heb 10:38), it doesn’t mean little sporadic bursts. No, it’s talking about a lifestyle! Anybody can go the first few rounds in the ring; it’s when you’re knocked down in the ninth that you need the faith to get back up and keep fighting. When the plane you’re flying on encounters turbulence you don’t throw away your ticket or bail out, you sit still and trust the pilot.

So discount your circumstances, dethrone your doubts, and start walking by faith!

I went to Mae Salong (Northern Thailand) with TEENz last Dec after TnT Samal Mission Trip. The cooling weather in Northern Thailand was very different from the free sauna we got from Samal... I met different people, learnt different languages and God taught me different things apart from the Samal trip.

During the thailand trip, my team visited the Ahka Tribe in villages where no water and electricity supply, despite their poverty and illiterateness, i could truly felt their hunger for God's Word and desire for His presence. They gave God everything when they have nothing to offer in human's eyes. Also, the chinese school was very run down and yet the principal and the teachers went all out for God... they receive very little pay for the purpose to share gospel to the students... I was indeed very touched by their sacrifice and love for God...

Each mission trip is unique and God is able to challenge you in His special ways! Let's experience His Love, His Greatness, His Power once again!

Hey everyone, so how's it all going? Are you all excited about the TNT camp next week? Hope you are all praying and gearing yourselves up for a life-changing 'Encounter' with our great and mighty God! And for those of you who can't join us at camp.. don't worry, we'll be remembering you in our prayers, we'll miss u.. but if you do have any change in plans, please join us at PD, even if it's for only one day!!

I remember two years ago (2006) when i couldn't join the full 'Pace-setter' camp at Sofitel Hotel.. but i managed to make a 'day-trip'-- and what fun it was! The fun outdoor games we played, the worship, and sermon.. were very memorable and much cherished even until today.

It's still not too late to sign-up, yar!! (i think.. haha... speaking by faith here..)

Cheerful giving or fearful giving?

“God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7 NIV

The Bible says, “Whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work…You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion” (2 Cor 9:6-11 NIV).

Are you a cheerful giver or a fearful giver? It’s not that we’re greedy or opposed to supporting God’s work, we’re just concerned that if we don’t look out for our own interests, they might not get looked out for at all. But such fear is irrational! It’s like a farmer who, out of fear of losing his seed, refuses to plant his fields. Don’t hoard the seed God intends to be sown for the harvest He wants you to have. God’s promise to you is, “If you sow generously you’ll reap generously.”

When you make giving to God your first priority, you don’t have to fear. Jesus said, “Put God’s work first and do what He wants. Then the other things will be yours as well” (Matt 6:33 CEV). When you strive to be a faithful channel for His Kingdom, God promises to “increase your store of seed”. And it gets better: “You will be made rich in every way.” When you partner with God, He rewards you abundantly for every good deed.

When you view your money from God’s perspective, the thing to fear isn’t giving away too much, but sowing too little!

Our last supper

Well actually, it was more of a dinner.. But the dinner was something like a 'last supper' of sorts...

Last Friday nite, our Pelangi Indah Cell met for the very last time for a sad solemn meal.. It's been only a few months, but the tough decision has been made to discontinue our cell due to its poor attendance. Most of our members (myself included) have not been able to regularly attend the cell meetings due to other commitments like work. Often, our attendace went down to sometimes only three or less(!) faithful souls. So.. we're now been 'relocated' to join the other cells. Clement, Nechelle and i will be joining the Johor Jaya cell (Yean/Angela), Benny will be joining Setia Indah (Vincent), and Jeff told us that he'll be 'roaming'.. Going where the food is.. :)

It's a sad predicament, but i told the guys that all failures are stepping stones for success, that this only a temporary setback, and we can use this experience to learn and grow better in future. Success is always desirable and wonderful, but we learn the most during times of failure. We can pray, seek God and ask him 'what went wrong?'.. Or 'how could we have improved things?'

So cheer up, okay :)

How much is Jesus worth??

I was cleaning up my room and I stumble upon a message preached by Pastor James, 'how much is Jesus worth?' This really caught my attention.

Jesus' worth will determine what you are willing to do for Him and how you will go about doing it.

Matthew 13:44-46
44"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.
45"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.

This passage describe the worth of the kingdom of God, I have never seen this passage this way. Today, God opened my eyes to see that when we found Jesus, it is the most precious thing, that you are willing to give up everything just to get this one thing. Very very precious, like some treasure hunt movie that the treasure hunter is willing to even give up his life for that one very precious stone.

So what are you willing to do??
Do you love him enough to sacrifice? Do you want him enough to obey what He tells you to do?

If you were to put a price tag on Jesus, how much will it be?

Is He worthy enough for you to read His word and talk to Him daily.

Free Rally Evaluation & Appreciation Tea

Last Sunday we had an Evaluation Meeting & Appreciation Tea for those who involved in the Free Rally preparation. Especially for the persons in charge, drama team, musicians who contributed their time & effort in attending meeting, co-ordinating, staying back for practices etc.

We had a wonderful time of sharing the good and the bad throughout the whole event, as well as the continual improvements we should take note on. And of course, the committee had lovingly contributed delicious food from their overwhelming love, a good reward to everyone's stomach! We believe greater reward is in heaven :)

We look forward to the next co-work event with WAF... truly we see God's annointings fall upon this group of young adults... Let's run this race together!

The theme of the camp is one more Encounter, base on 1 Cor 15:58, " Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain" - to meet with God and to be counted for.

I attended TnT Camp in 2006 and it was great! I was ministered by the messages preached by Pastor Dorai and was touched by God during every session... I've learnt so much how to become the Pacesetter in workplace, how to draw myself closer to God etc etc... and of course, I also had a great time building bonding and enjoyed fun (especially the games session!) with all the TnT... our friendship has no doubt gone up to another higher level after the camp!

If you attended Mission Convention last month, I believe you were encouraged and challenged by Pastor Mark Geppert's sharings... I can't wait to hear his sharing and to experience one more encounter with God through this coming camp!

End of 2007, TnT invited WAF (Working Adults Fellowship) to co-organize a billingual rally in the mid of 2008. The committee was formed and started their 1st meeting in Jan this year and started working on the programs as well as fasted and prayed for the event. It required a lot of co-ordinations to work together when two ministries were involved, however our God is gracious and He made everything went well!

Thank you very much for those have involved... the person in charge for refreshment, ushers, musicians, LCD, PA, worship leaders, drama team, pastors, counselors etc... and many of you who invited new friends, arranging chairs, cleaning up and most importantly, keeping this event in your prayer... thank you for your participation... You know that your labour is not in vain!

Before the Rally started, we gathered as one body and prayed for the event. We could feel the strong presence of God!

Indeed, how pleasant and blessed it is to stand in unity! And God just poured out His annointing unto us! It's excited for two ministries to work hand in hand and win souls for our God!

The FREE! Rally started with fooooooood..... filled everyone's stomach so that they could concentrate in the programs that lined up for the night!

after food, it was time of fellowship and fun! Well, our new friends were very happy with our Animal Game and the Watermelon Game, they truly enjoyed themselves!

After the games session, we moved to Canaan Hall. Boonfei and Cammy led 2 welcome songs and told the audience that Jesus loves you and me!

Everyone was concentrating on the testimony by BIlly Wang. Indeed how God transformed his life was amazing and touched the hearts of the audience.

After the video, was the turn of our drama team. With the background music of "At the cross", the drama team had shown the audience how much God loves us and He is willing to bear all our burdens and how much He desires to set us free from all the bondages in life...

(note: drama pics were taken during rehearsal... coz our photographer was attentive to the drama on the exact day and he forgot to take any pics! haha...)

without taking any break, Pastor James and Pastor Gideon went on stage to share how God transformed the lives of the people around them.

Everyone was attentive to what pastors were sharing...

Here come the quiet and serious moment... when pastors gave out invitation for the non-believer friends to accept Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord...

Yes! We want Jesus! New friends responded to the invitation!...

Joyful moment when we saw more than 15 new friends came forward to acknowledge their decisions to accept Jesus. (13 accepted Christ and the rest re-dedicated their lives)

Yes! A decision you will never regret! Angels in heaven are rejoicing for you!

Truly it was a wonderful night... Spiritual atmosphere was very strong and God's presence was definitely throughout the whole event! With powerful testimony video, message sharing, touching drama... the love of God touched many lives and gospels seeds were sown into many lives! Praise God for this event!

We wanted to thank our drama team for their hardwork... many late nights practices just for a 7 minutes skit on the stage... you guys are wonderful! Especially our backscene co-ordinator Siong and Yean... You guys are very much appreciated. :)

The sentosa cell group had it's usual cell group time at Alan's place. Alan's gonna play the guitar & me on the Cajón, then fu yao had an idea about playing the bass guitar, and alan went upstairs to get the keyboard, we encouraged Ye Chow to play it.

and.. wah la! A worship band for the night's praise & worship, lead by Yan with a microphone to boot. (she didn't use the mike, too pai seh, ha)
=)

Before the worship started, we took some photos and fooled around. See, Boon Fei & Raymond standing at the right side of the above picture, acting as "backup singers", haha.

I grew to like the new cell group, comprised of ppl with various personalities, the super joker, the pastor, the normal, the quiet ones, the deep thinker, the sweet types..

Be different, as delightfully as possible

No, my header is not a newly discovered Bible verse... I was just thinking through our call as Christians to be in yet not of the world... And what it means.

How can we be different? Here are some practical ideas:

Open your home - Let your place be a refuge, source of comfort or fellowship hub for others... friends, colleagues, neighbours, relatives...
Offer to drive - With the increase in petrol price, make a difference by offering to pick your friends up
Prioritize your life wisely - The way you live and where you commit yourselves speaks very loudly of your beliefs, your love for Jesus and others
Be excellent - Do everything with passion, to glorify God... don't complain, rather help to think of constructive solutions...
Stock up - On good things. Buy music, books, clothes etc which you know is "pleasing" to the Lord...

There are many more ideas in my head, but let's hear from you... Fill free to write your comments below.

Between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Back in my Sunday School days in Penang and through the various Scripture Union camps that I attended, my teachers have often pointed out the "gap" in creation. That was between verse 1 and verse 2 of Genesis. Bible scholars believe quite possibly that there could have been a large gap in duration between "the beginning" and the time when "darkness was upon the face of the deep".

I've never seen any scientific proof of this until last night. I was fiddling around with the hotel TV remote control when I stumbled on another episode of "Mysteries of the Universe" on the Vision Four channel. This picture is what they think the moon might have looked like during the Dark Age. That colour is due to the mysterious dark force that was collapsing the universe. (Something like that lar)

Scientists today believe that they have found a mysterious phenomena whereby the expansion of the universe decelerated at a point in time causing what looked like the start of the collapse of space. The universe became darker and darker. This is known today as the Dark Age of the Universe. And then all of a sudden, a "clash" occured between gravity and the cosmos...

This clash caused a sudden ripple domino effect which caused the stars to form and pull towards high gravity points. Stars which were too dense when together formed masses of giant gravity called blackholes. Eventually galaxies were formed. (Galaxies are a cluster of stars)

(Blackholes are densed gravity objects in space, so every galaxy has one... or rather you need a blackhole to group the stars)... We live on the Milky Way galaxy and our nearest star is the Sun. Yet scientifically, it couldn't be explained because according to physics, galaxies had to form before blackholes could... A chicken and egg story... I won't go into that, because I myself can't understand it.

Loeb is most interested in exploring what he refers to as "the dark age of the universe," the 1-2 billion years between the faded glow of creation and the lighting of stars. After its creation 10-15 billion years ago in the mother of all explosions, called the Big Bang, the universe was a homogenous sea of cooling gas. Slight fluctuations in gravity rippled this smoothness, however, and gravity's force pulled the ripples into waves of matter that condensed into the first objects with separate identities.

"Each of these first structures had a mass of 1,000 to 100,000 suns, very small on the scale of the universe," Loeb believes. "They then clustered together to form galaxies that we see today. That probably occurred when the universe was 10 percent of its present age, or 1-2 billion years old."

For example, quasars are the farthest points of detectable light. Their incredible brightness, equal to 100 galaxies like our Milky Way, makes them visible. According to most theorists, the stupendous energy of a quasar comes from a black hole located at the center of a distant galaxy. The hole, the most powerful gravitational attractor known, is sucking gas into its maw the way a sink drain pulls in water. Coincidentally, this is also well before the formation of any stars or galaxies, opening a unique window into the so-called "dark ages."

You can say that the Dark Age of the Universe is clearly recorded in the Bible in verse 2.
Furthermore, scientists believe that galaxies only came into existence after this Dark Age. Before the Dark Age the Universe was just had an equally spread out distribution of stars.

Genesis 1:3 now becomes truly powerful. Because after the Dark Age, God spoke and there was light! Following that was the timeless love story of how God created life only to redeem it by sending His only Son Jesus to pay for our sins on the painful cross.

what's happening last friday?

Last Friday all TnT CGs were cancelled in view of the Mission Convention.

This year it is our pleasure to have Pastor Mark Geppert with us and i believe all of us who attended the service were impacted by his sharing. Indeed there is no other name but the name of Jesus. In His name, we can cast out the spirit of fears in us, we can defeat the goliaths in our lives, no matter it is the financial problem, relationship issue, career difficulty, problem in health that you are facing right now etc etc, Jesus' perfect love will cast out all these fears! Remember, "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world"! ~ 1 John 4:4

After the powerful messages, we held a surprise and yet not so surprise birthday celebrations for J'ffrey, Choonsiang, Seowching & Chi En. Wow the cake is Hup2's all times favourite - durian cake! And i think he has eaten many of them, haha... okies, lets see what's happening during the cake cutting session...

On a beautiful Saturday morning, a bunch of young, energetic TnTs set out for an adventure weekend on Gunung Panti. Let me bring you through out journey..

We started out with breakfast in Taman Molek, just nearby the centre for MAPS. After breakfast, we had orientation at the office, pack our things and prepare to climb mountain.

After a long drive up to Kota Tinggi, we finally arrived at.....

Emphasize church health, not church growth

A decade ago, when I wrote The Purpose Driven Church, I predicted that church health -- not church growth -- would be the primary concern of the 21st century Church. I believe that prediction is proving itself true.

The New Testament says a lot about the health of the Church. Consider just a few verses:

"As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love." (Ephesians 4:16b, NLT)

"The focus of my letter wasn't on punishing the offender but on getting you to take responsibility for the health of the church." (2 Corinthians 2:9, Msg)

"You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other. ..." (James 3:18, Msg)

Church health is the key to church growth. All living things grow if they're healthy. You don't have to make them grow -- it's just natural for living organisms. As a parent, I didn't have to force my three children to grow. They naturally grew up. As long as I removed the hindrances, such as poor nutrition or an unsafe environment, their growth was automatic.

If my children had not grown up, I would have suspected that something was terribly wrong. I would have done whatever it took to discover the disease and correct it.

The same principle is true for the Church. Since the Church is a living organism, it's natural for it to grow if it's healthy. The Church is a body, not a business -- an organism, not an organization. It's alive. If a church is not growing, it is dying.

What then is the secret of church health?

In a word, it's balance!

Your body has nine different systems (circulatory, respiratory, digestive, skeletal, etc.). When these systems are all in balance, it produces health. But when your body gets out of balance, we call that "disease." Likewise when the Body of Christ becomes unbalanced, disease occurs. Health and growth can only occur when everything is brought into balance.

The importance of balance

Our entire world is based on this principle of balance. Our planet was perfectly balanced by God at just the right angle on its axis to support life. It rotates at a speed that minimizes vibration. If this planet were just a little closer to the sun, we'd burn up and, if it were just a few miles further away from the sun, we'd freeze to death.

Nature is a collection of ecosystems living in balance with each other. God has set up a food chain with plants and animals in balance. We now know that even the tiniest variation in the ecosystem creates a chain reaction.

In architecture, structures must be balanced. If the stress isn't balanced, a building will collapse or a bridge will fall through. There must be equilibrium. If your life is not balanced, you might collapse, and if your congregation is not balanced, it might collapse. As pastors and counselors we must realize that healing is the recovery of balance to the body, soul, and congregation.

Healthy, lasting church growth is multi-dimensional. I've written extensively on the fact that church health has five facets: Every church needs to grow warmer through fellowship, deeper through discipleship, stronger through worship, broader through ministry, and larger through evangelism.

These five purposes of the church are commanded by Jesus in the Great Commandment and Great Commission, explained by Paul in Ephesians 4, described in Jesus' prayer for the church in John 17, and modeled by the first church in Jerusalem.

In Acts 2:42-47 these five facets of health are mentioned: They fellowshipped, edified each other, worshipped, ministered, and evangelized. As a result, verse 47 (NIV) says, "And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

The five dimensions of a healthy church

1. Churches grow warmer through fellowship.
2. Churches grow deeper through discipleship.
3. Churches grow stronger through worship.
4. Churches grow broader through ministry.
5. Churches grow larger through evangelism.

Church growth is the natural result of church health. But church health can only occur when our message is biblical and our mission is balanced. Each of the five New Testament purposes of the church must be in equilibrium with the others for health to occur.

Now this is important: Because we are imperfect beings, balance in a church does not occur naturally. In fact, we must continually correct imbalance! It's human nature to overemphasize whichever aspect or purpose of the church we feel most passionate about.

Most evangelical churches already do the five purposes of the church -- sort of.
But they don't do them all equally well. One church may be strong in fellowship, yet weak in evangelism. Another may be strong in worship, yet weak in discipleship. Still another may be strong in evangelism, yet weak in ministry.

Why is this? It's the natural tendency of leaders to emphasize what they feel strongly about and neglect whatever they feel less passionate about. Around the world you can find churches that have become the extension of their pastor's giftedness. They focus only on what he cares about most.

Unless you set up a system and structure to intentionally balance the five purposes, your church will tend to overemphasize the purpose that best expresses the gifts and passion of its pastor.

Healthy churches are built on purpose! By focusing equally on all five of the New Testament purposes of the church, your church will develop the healthy balance that makes lasting growth possible.

Christian Environmentalism

The news media is full of stories concerning environmental disasters of one kind or another, from global warming to endangered species to destruction of the rain forests to nuclear accidents. It is not hard to notice that the environmental issue receives very little attention in Christian circles.

There are so many other significant issues that occupy our attention that we seem to think of the environment as somebody else's issue. Many Christians are openly skeptical of the reality of any environmental crisis. It is viewed as a liberal issue, or New Age propaganda, or just plain unimportant since this earth will be destroyed after the millennium. What we fail to realize is that Christians have a sacred responsibility to the earth and the creatures within it. The earth is being affected by humans in an unprecedented manner, and we do not know what the short or long term effects will be.

The Seven Degradations of the Earth
Calvin DeWitt, in his book The Environment and the Christian, lists seven degradations of the earth.

First, land is being converted from wilderness to agricultural use and from agricultural use to urban areas at an ever-increasing rate. Some of these lands cannot be reclaimed at all, at least not in the near future.

Second, as many as three species a day become extinct. Once a species has disappeared, it is gone. Neither the species nor the role it occupied in the ecosystem can be retrieved.

Third, land continues to be degraded by the use of pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. Just because DDT is no longer used does not mean that potentially harmful chemicals are not being used in its place.

Fourth, the treatment of hazardous chemicals and wastes continues as an unsolved problem. Hazardous chemicals seep into water sources from previously buried dumping grounds.

Fifth, pollution is rapidly becoming a global problem. Human garbage turns up on the shores of uninhabited South Pacific islands, far from the shipping lanes, and DDT has been found in Antarctic penguins.

Sixth, our atmosphere appears to be changing. Is it warming due to the increase of gases like carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels? Is the ozone layer shrinking due to the use of chemicals contained in refrigerators, air conditioners, spray cans, and fire extinguishers? Though these questions cannot be answered easily, they must be asked.

Seventh, we are losing the experiences of cultures that have lived in harmony with the creation for hundreds or even thousands years. Cultures such as the Mennonites and Amish, as well as those of the rain forests, are crowded out by the expansion of civilization.Never before have human beings wielded so much power over God's creation.

Do we know what we are doing?

The Environmental Ethics of Naturalism and Pantheism

Some people have blamed Western culture's Judeo-Christian heritage for the environmental crisis. These critics point squarely at Genesis 1:26-28, where God commands His new creation, man, to have dominion over the earth and to rule and subdue it. This mandate is seen as a clear license to exploit the earth for man's own purposes. With this kind of philosophy, they ask, how can the earth ever be saved?

While I will deal with the inaccuracy of this interpretation a little later in this article, you can see why many of the leaders in the environmental movement are calling for a radical shift away from this Christian position. But what are the alternatives?The need to survive provides a rationale for environmental concern within an evolutionary or naturalistic world view. Survival of the human species is the ultimate value. Man cannot continue to survive without a healthy planet.

We must act to preserve the earth in order to assure the future of our children. The evolutionary or naturalistic view of nature is, however, ultimately pragmatic. That is, nature has value only as long as we need it. The value of nature is contingent on the whim of egotistical man. If, as technology increases, we are able to artificially reproduce portions of the ecosystem for our survival needs, then certain aspects of nature lose their significance. We no longer need them to survive. This view is ultimately destructive, because man will possess only that which he needs.
The rest of nature can be discarded.

Another alternative is the pantheistic or new age world view. Superficially, this view offers some hope. All of nature is equal because all is god and god is all. Nature is respected and valued because it is part of the essence of god. If humans have value, then nature has value. But while pantheism elevates nature, it simultaneously degrades man and will ultimately degrade nature as well. To the pantheist, man has no more value than a blade of grass. In India the rats and cows consume needed grain and spread disease with the blessings of the pantheists. To restrict the rats and cows would be to restrict god, so man takes second place to the rats and cows. Man is a part of nature, yet it is man that is being restricted. So ultimately, all of nature is degraded.

Pantheism claims that what is, is right. To clean up the environment would mean eliminating the "undesirable" elements. But, since god is all and in all, how can there be any undesirable elements? Pantheism fails because it makes no distinctions between man and nature.

The Christian Environmental Ethic

A true Christian environmental ethic differs from the naturalistic and pantheistic ethics in that it is based on the reality of God as Creator and man as his image-bearer and steward. God is the Creator of nature, not part of nature. He transcends nature (Gen. 1-2; Job 38-41; Ps. 19, 24, and 104; Rom 1:18-20; Col. 1:16-17).

All of nature, including man, is equal in its origin. Nature has value in and of itself because God created it. Nature's value is intrinsic; it will not change because the fact of its creation will not change. The rock, the tree, and the cat deserve our respect because God made them to be as they are. While man is a creature and therefore is identified with the other creatures, he is also created in God's image. It is this image that separates humans from the rest of creation (Gen. 1:26-27; Ps. 139:13-16). God did not bestow His image anywhere else in nature. Therefore, while a cat has value because God created it, it is inappropriate to romanticize the cat as though it had human emotions.

All God's creatures glorify Him by their very existence, but only one is able to worship and serve Him by an act of the will. But a responsibility goes along with bearing the image of God. In its proper sense, man's rule and dominion over the earth is that of a steward or a caretaker, not a reckless exploiter. Man is not sovereign over the lower orders of creation. Ownership is in the hands of the Lord. God told Adam and Eve to cultivate and keep the garden (Gen. 2:15), and we may certainly use nature for our benefit, but we may only use it as God intends. An effective steward understands that which he oversees, and science can help us discover the intricacies of nature.

Technology puts the creation to man's use, but unnecessary waste and pollution degrades it and spoils the creation's ability to give glorify to its creator. I think it is helpful to realize that we are to exercise dominion over nature not as though we are entitled to exploit it but as something borrowed or held in trust. Recall that in the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, the steward who merely buried his talent out of fear of losing it was severely chastised. What little he did have was taken away and given to those who already had a great deal.

When Christ returns, His earth may well be handed back to Him rusted, corroded, polluted, and ugly. To what degree will you or I be held responsible?

Abuse of Dominion

While God intended us to live in harmony with nature, we have more often than not been at odds with nature. This reality tells us that man has not fulfilled his mandate.

The source of our ecological crisis lies in man's fallen nature and the abuse of his dominion. Man is a rebel who has set himself at the center of the universe. Man has exploited created things as though they were nothing in themselves and as though he has an autonomous right to do so. Man's abuse of his dominion becomes clear when we look at the value we place on time and money. Our often uncontrolled greed and haste have led to the deterioration of the environment.

We evaluate projects almost exclusively in terms of their potential impact on humans. For instance, builders know that it is faster and more cost effective to bulldoze trees that are growing on the site of a proposed subdivision than it is to build the houses around them. Even if the uprooted trees are replaced with saplings once the houses are constructed, the loss of the mature trees enhances erosion, eliminates a means of absorbing pollutants, producing oxygen, and providing shade, and produces a scar that heals slowly if at all.

Building around the trees, while more expensive and time-consuming, minimizes the destructive impact of human society on God's earth. But, because of man's sinful heart, the first option has been utilized more often than not. Christians we must treat nature as having value in itself, and we must be careful to exercise dominion without being destructive. The Bible contains numerous examples of the care with which we are expected to treat the environment. Leviticus 25:1-12 speaks of the care Israel was to have for the land. Deuteronomy 25:4 and 22:6 indicate the proper care for domestic animals and a respect for wildlife. In Isaiah 5:8-10 the Lord judges those who have misused the land. Job 38:25-28 and Psalm 104:27-30 speak of God's nurture and care for His creation. And Jesus spoke on two occasions of how much the Father cared for even the smallest sparrow (MATT. 6:26, 10:29).

Christian Responsibility

I believe that as Christians, we have a responsibility to the earth that exceeds that of unredeemed people. We are the only ones who are rightly related to the Creator. We should be showing others the way to environmental responsibility. Christians of all people should not be destroyers. We may cut down a tree to build a house or to make a fire, but not just to cut it down. We have the right to rid our house of ants, but we should not forget to honor the ant in its right habitat. While there is nothing wrong with profit in the marketplace, in some cases we must voluntarily limit our profit in order to protect the environment. When the church puts belief into practice, our humanity and sense of beauty are restored. But this is not what we see. Concern for the environment is not on the front-burner of most evangelical Christians. The church has failed in its mission of steward of the earth. We have spoken out loudly against the materialism of science as expressed in the issues of abortion, human dignity, evolution, and genetic engineering, but have shown ourselves to be little more than materialists in our technological orientation towards nature.

By failing to fulfill our responsibilities to the earth, we are losing a great evangelistic opportunity. Many in our society are seeking an improved environment, yet they think that most Christians don't care about ecological issues and that most churches offer no opportunity for involvement. Because the environmental movement has been co-opted by those involved in the New Age Movement, many Christians have begun to confuse interest in the environment with interest in pantheism and have hesitated to get involved. But we cannot allow the enemy to take over leadership in an area that is rightfully ours.

As the redeemed of the earth, our motivation to care for the land is even higher than that of the New Ager. Jesus has redeemed all of the effects of the curse, including our relationship with God, our relationship with other people and our relationship with the creation (1 Cor. 15:21-22, Rom. 5:12-21). Though the heavens and the earth will eventually be destroyed, we should still work for healing now.

A few life lessons from Exodus

Do you remember the story of how God used Moses to deliver Israel from their bondage in Egypt? The burning bush, the confrontations with Pharaoh, the plagues, the deliverance, and the parting of the sea. By anyone's standard, truly an astounding series of events.

What we sometimes tend to overlook (or at least play down), however, is the common humanity that saturated the events and situations surrounding the deliverance. You know: the doubts, the fears, the struggles. The stuff that everyone goes through.

To begin with, Moses doubted both himself and God. He flatly told God that he did not want the job of confronting one of the most powerful persons on the planet. (Imagine going before the head of the People's Republic of China and demanding that his country grant religious freedom to its Christians.) God responded by promising that Moses would not be alone, that he (God) would be right there. And as tangible proof of his presence, God gave Moses a helper in the form of his brother, Aaron. (See Exodus 4.)

Then there was the initial confrontation with Pharaoh, followed by the immediate release of the children of Israel. Right? Wrong. Actually, Pharaoh arrogantly rejected the unknown God and his apparently powerless ambassador. And as if to add insult to injury, he made the Israelites' lives even more miserable by ordering them to make brick without straw -- without falling short of their daily quota. (Talk about doing more with less!)

Understandably, at this point the Israelite leaders were a bit perturbed. The only thing they wanted deliverance from was the presence of Moses and Aaron, toward whom they vented their anger. Moses then returned to God and did some venting of his own. (See Exodus 5.)

And let's not forget (as Paul Harvey would say) the rest of the story: Israel's post-exodus idolatry with the golden calf, their incessant whining, and their outright rejection of the Promised Land -- followed by forty years of slogging through the wilderness.

Not exactly how we tend to remember God's deliverance of Israel via Moses, is it? And yet there are some invaluable lessons to be learned from all this. Here are a few that come to mind:

1. God wants real people, not superheroes. Which is great news for us, since superheroes exist only in the make-believe world of comic books and movies. The real world is filled with real -- i.e., imperfect -- people like you and I. God can, will, and does use even us. All he asks in return is that we seek to trust in and obey him. We are called, in other words, to be grateful and faithful.

2. God doesn't ask us to go alone. People can do some very strange (not to mention dangerous) things in an effort to avoid being alone. In one respect that is a testimony to the fact that being created in God's image includes being social -- i.e., interacting with other people. No where does the Bible lift up a spiritual lone ranger for our emulation. Of course Moses had Aaron. The kings had their advisers. The prophets had their scribes. Jesus had his disciples. And Paul had his traveling companions, as well as numerous friends and ministry partners. For today's Christian, this translates into the nonnegotiable need to be a committed member of a local Bible-believing church.

3. We can expect problems and difficulties. It's never a matter of "if" they come, it's always a matter of "when." What better example along these lines than the apostle Paul? His second letter to the believers in Corinth includes a litany of laborious sufferings, including: jailings, beatings, stonings, shipwrecks, arduous travel, danger, betrayal, hard labor, sleepless nights, missed meals, nakedness, and worry over his fledgling churches (11:23-28). Yet despite these and other hardships, this Christian-persecutor-turned-Christ-proclaimer remained a bottomless well of joy (see his letter to the Philippians). How did he do it? Simply put, Paul sought God's strength and God's perspective.

4. God is with us every step of the way. Why is it that people want to blame God when things go wrong, but then want to credit everyone and everything except God when things go right? In point of fact, God is always working through any and every situation to bring about his glory and our good. But lest we forget, some of our greatest opportunities to trust in and obey God come disguised as some of our greatest problems.

5. God disciplines us for persistent sin. (And you thought this was a feel good message!) On more than one occasion God threatened to wipe Israel out completely. In the end he chose instead to kill off an entire generation of chronic grumblers. Which, I suppose, is another way of saying that God is more patient with stumbling and bumbling than with grumbling.

6. We may not see the complete fulfillment of God's promises. Moses never set foot in the Promised Land -- but he did get a great view of it from a distance. He died knowing that he had accomplished God's will by forging a people into a nation and then guiding them to the place God had for them.

7. We are worth much more than what is on our resume. (I can appreciate this point!) Without making light of his accomplishments, it could be argued that Moses ended his life having been: an illegitimate prince, a sheep herder, and a tour guide. Yet we rightly remember him as a great man of God who played a monumental role in God's plan of establishing for himself a people set apart to know, love, and serve him.

Cyclone Nargis ripped through the river delta city of Yangon, Myanmar for more than 10 hours -- from Friday night until Saturday noon, according to CNN.

Earlier this week, The Christian Post reported that the U.S. State Department said Myanmar's government had not granted permission for a Disaster Assistance Response Team into the country.

In the past, according to British relief association Christian Aid, the government of Myanmar has been reluctant to allow international assistance into the country at times of disaster. But now, in a reflection of the scale of the disaster, the government has called for international assistance, which has allowed Christian relief organizations to get involved.

As the death toll has risen to over 22,000 according to the latest estimates reported by CNN.com, President Bush and other world leaders are urging Myanmar's reclusive military government to better enable the flow of aid.

Response of Christian Agencies
Samaritan's Purse is reporting that in addition to the rising death toll, some 41,000 people are missing. Many more are homeless, thanks to a 12-foot storm surge that swept away entire towns and villages.

Thankfully, Samaritan’s Purse has a team of water specialists who were in Myanmar when the storm hit. Other Samaritan’s Purse emergency teams in Southeast Asia are mobilizing to respond to needs for food, water, and emergency shelter.

World Vision is estimating that overall, 2 million people have been or will be affected by Nargis's devastation, therefore shelter and water are the most urgent needs as World Vision launches a "full-scale" response. They are asking for $3 million in global donations to provide that aid to children and families.

"News is only slowly trickling out of the country, but it is clear from the information already available that this is a major catastrophe demanding an urgent response," says Dean Hirsch, president of World Vision International. "My greatest concern is for the children of Myanmar who will be especially vulnerable at this time. We must get them shelter, clean water, and food as quickly as possible. The threat of the spread of disease is always at the door when people are living in such conditions and children are the most likely to succumb to illness."

The government of Myanmar has invited World Vision to provide assistance in the form of zinc sheets, tents, tarpaulins, and medicine. World Visision is also coordinating with authorities to explore an airlift of emergency supplies into the country from one of its global warehouses.
Christian Aid is responding to the devastation as well, already having committed £50,000 for local partners to carry out relief work. Ever since the Cyclone first hit on May 3, Christian Aid staff have been attempting to contact partners in Burma, but finding lines of communication has been difficult with power and telephone systems down. Christian Aid also points to Myanmar's lack of an early warning system as a concern that needs to be remedied for the future.

I found this message from a Christian who works 50 km from the epicentre. He and his family were fortunate survivors and have since been evacuated.

Please pray for China

Pray for those children orphaned, for parents who’ve lost their only child
Pray for those who are injured to receive appropriate medical care
Pray for the government to be able to restore vital services (food supply, water, roadways, etc)
For the church to use this opportunity to minister to people’s needs and love people into the Kingdom
For aid and aid workers to quickly get to those who most need it
There have been many more earthquakes of magnitude 4.4 or greater (aftershocks). Each one can cause further damage as rubble shifts and damaged buildings collapse.
Pray for stability and the rain to stop.
Praise God for the government’s rapid response and willingness to receive foreign aid
Praise God that the most affected areas are not major metropolitan areas

World Vision, which has a community development centre just 200 kilometres from the earthquake’s epicentre, was just one of the many Christian organisations that said that it had relief and aid workers ready to deploy at any notice.

The Amity Foundation, the only member of Action by Churches Together International, working extensively in China, sent staff to the affected areas to assess the situation and plan a response. It reports that access to the quake hit areas has been made very difficult by the destruction of communications and transport links.

Franklin Graham, who is currently travelling through China on a goodwill tour in support of the country’s rapidly growing Christian community, indicated that his relief organisation, Samaritan’s Purse, would be ready to send aid immediately during a meeting with Chinese officials.

Graham, whose mother was born in China, has often spoken openly of his love for the nation and its readiness to receive the Gospel. On Sunday, Graham described the country as a “great hope” after preaching powerfully of Jesus Christ to over 12,000 people at Hangzhou Chong-Yi Christian Church, the nation’s largest megachurch. Over 1,000 people in attendance responded immediately to Graham’s invitation to become followers of Jesus Christ.

Monday’s earthquake so soon after the cyclone disaster in Burma has brought to attention the readiness and dedication of Christian relief organisations.

The Chinese Government, in response, has said that it would welcome all international aid and relief.

The earthquake is said to be China’s worst since 1976, when over 200,000 people perished in the city of Tangshan after it was hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake.

The cup and the bread…

This is the last cell group before we multiply so we decided to make it different and meaningful. We call it ‘the last supper’. We read scriptures, gave thanks and broke bread.

It was a rather emotional cell meeting where we shared about how the cell group has blessed us in our lives. We thank our leaders, Roy and Choon Siang for all that they have done for us and hopefully make them ‘cry’.. Haha.. but they did not..

Finally, we end our cell with UK chocolates and ‘guo tie’. A memorable cell group and all of us enjoyed ourselves.

It had been a great 1 ½ years when it first start with 3 people (again) till around 18 people. All of us have learned to bond with each other and share our deepest thoughts.

The Ten Commandments is not Multiple Choice

Someone sent me a fwd today with quotes and baby pictures. But this one stood out.

"The Ten Commandments is not Multiple Choice"

How true! You know, most of the time we pick and choose the parts of the Bible we find easy to obey and sometimes avoid passages that rebuke our wrongdoings. That's like eating an unbalanced diet because we only like the stuff that tastes good to us.

Think about it. If even God can't correct you, then who can?

Let's be honest when we read the Word of God, and let it be truth unto us... that the truth may set us free!

Put a worm in a closed jar and it will wiggle, wiggle, wiggle and hope to break free. I remembered how Yan's "gou gou" doggie barked like crazy when tied to its leash. We, humans, are a bit strange. While the rest of nature struggles to break free, sometimes we just complacently sit trapped, dumbfounded and hopeless. Trapped in darkness and bound by sin, locked in by past failures and held captive by others... we fail to choose freedom because we fail to choose God's way.

What Boon Fei shared on the weekend is so true. It is our individual responsibility to guard our minds. What we allow ourselves to meditate on can very often be harmful to us, if it is not cross-checked with God's truth.

John 8:31,32 If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

Hebrews 5:8 Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.

1 Peter 2:24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Let's not play vending machine with God and think we paid the price to choose what to follow. Remember... Jesus has paid the price and it is His will for us to enjoy life in its abundance.

Melodies CG farewell dinner (27 Apr 08)

"Ai yar, different cell group liao" :]

..or something like that.. becomes one of the most said phrases and one-liner jokes when the melodies CG members get together for our farewell dinner last sunday.

Everybody came with the sms invitation of Ke Tyng, saying it's a "tea session", and are in for a big surprise and warm fellowship. It is nice being together again (me, aaron, ke tyng, grace, david, raymond, mynn, thomas, chin lee, too bad others can't make it), having a sweet Praise & Worship session, followed by Ke Tyng's dad giving us a harmonica performance (yay!), and the big surprise = food, food, so much food!

The "tea session" is home-made popiah and bak kut teh! We ate our hearts out, talk & joke around like mad, and Ke Tyng's mom presented a beautiful fruity Birthday cake for her daughter. We sang the song, sang it again out-of-tunely, celebrate Ke Tyng's birthday though it's a month earlier (mom made a little mistake), and witnessed the difficulty in cutting the cake, lol.

After that, we just hang around in the living room, watching tv, talk-talk, the guys having fun trying out the foot massager... like a family.

About 1.5-2 yrs together, all with very different personalities, I still don't understand how we came to enjoy each other's fellowship and learn to love and take care of one another.

But it is truly the love of Christ that binds us together, and this will continue on as we attend the new cell groups.. =)

The "First" Supper

Last Friday was heartwarming for many as the TnT's met for the last time in the 4 cell groups. The groups had been together for almost 2 years since the Pacesetters camp at Sofitel Hotel... (remember the fun we had running around for the games, the powerful prophecies by Ps Dorai, the challenging speech by Dr Ong Koon Leong, the new friends we made, the mamak sessions in Senai and the "History Maker" song?)

Wowz... that feels like so long ago! Look at how we've grown! From a mere 3 ppl to 4 cell groups... And by tonight we'll know how many more! God has blessed us from humble beginnings and may we continue to carry this vision of growth forward...

I've learnt many things through the TnT cell meetings... Gotten to know many new people as well... But best of all, it's really evident that my cell group members have grown in the Lord, in their love for one another and in their commitment to the body of Christ! It's so wonderful to grow together and to experience church life.

Tonight, we shall be having the "First" Supper... I probably should blog tomorrow so that I can put up some pics, but I'm so excited. So I'm bloggin now.

Tonight's THE night. The Cell Group Multiplication Nite. It'll be a good time of sharing, getting to know more people and also the beginning for a few TnTs as they take up the challenge of overseeing/facilitating cell groups. And after all that, we'll probably fellowship over "makan" and have the "First Supper", hopefully sitting together as new cell groups.

As we continue to expand the TnT cell group ministry, let's become Teamplayers...

Our last cell meet!

Our last cell group meeting for the Setia Indah group.. and we chose to have it at the comfy and romantic Lavender in taman molek... Not a bad choice at all!
Mmm.. after feasting on all that chicken chop and pasta and iced coffee... we almost forgot that this was actually the last time we were meeting as a cell....!
But when it was all over, all of us were hanging out outside of the shop.. almost unwilling to go home! Maybe we finished early.. Or maybe it was because we'll really miss each other once we go to our separate cells next week.
But one thing's for sure-- we had a wonderful and memorable time growing together.. as a group.. closer to the Lord and closer to each other.
I really thank God for the friendships that he has blessed me with through this cell group!

But alas, it's time now to Grow, and multiply, and reach out to more people for Jesus..!

Jesus calls us to respond to negative things in a way that is totally different from the world. When someone treats us badly.. or is rude or inconsiderate, what do we do? Do we feel obliged to 'return the favour'?? No, we should make a decision that we're gonna choose to take the high road.. just let the offence go.. and just LOVE the person with the same amazing love that God showed us on the cross..!

"You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'
But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?
And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

Help... I'm gonna burn out!

Lately, there have been lots and lots of activities involving the TnTs and some of us are starting to feel the stress, strain and exhaustion... It's not that we're not faithful... it's just that we are starting to contemplate avoiding events and letting others do the job... These are the early symptoms of burn out... Burn out can be defined as simply losing the ability to participate effectively or contribute significantly due to loss of strength and passion.

They say, when you stop relying on God's strength... or when you're doing things your own way not God's ways... burn out happens... true... but it could also boil down to our shifting priorities, job stress and lack of personal resource management.

I got this "burn out" cycle diagram from somewhere... where are you right now?

Our world today moves faster than ever. With technology allowing - and almost encouraging us to be omnipresent, we find it hard to unplug. Add passion for ministry into the mix and it’s a recipe for disaster if we don’t learn to prayerfully and carefully seek God’s plan for all areas of our health - spiritual, emotional, physical, mental and relational.

Are there any conditions within the ministry practice or area that dispose a leader to this burnout?

Each environment is unique, and each person is unique. The one common predisposition those of us who are believers have is the fact that Satan wants to destroy us and he will use anything, even the convenience of today’s world, to throw us off track.

What sort of things can a leader do to assure that burnout doesn’t occur?

First and foremost, we have to continually die to ourselves. When we are working in our power, rather than the power of the Holy Spirit, we are being entirely ineffective for the Kingdom. There are also other practical things many of us overlook, such as getting enough sleep, investing in relationships, and even putting down the cheeseburger and fries…

What sort of things can a church or ministry organisation do to make sure there team doesn’t burnout?

Communicate openly and honestly. Identify a team member’s expectations and strengths. Keep communicating. Set boundaries within the team. Pray together.

For someone who has experienced moral failure or burnout, what is required to experience healing and restoration?

God’s grace is unending, and sometimes when you hit rock bottom, that’s all you may have to hold on to. Sometimes your friends, maybe even your family, will slip away. Finding people who can help you walk through this is essential. Unfortunately, too many people get kicked to the curb when they go through something like burning out or a moral failure.

There is this myth that once you become a Christian you won’t get depressed, anxious or bothered by issues; how do you respond to this?

Read almost any book in the Bible and you’ll see there are many people, especially those in very intimate relationships with God, who suffered in a variety of ways. It’s in those dark times that we recognize even the smallest glimmer of light even more.

And finally, what is your definition of a healthy ministry?

Prayer driven and spirit led.

Hmmm.... ok... at a personal level... this is my personal say on the matter:

WHAT I DO WHEN I FEEL I'M APPROACHING BURN OUT

It's ok to slow down and reflect on what's going on...

Pray and ask God what it is you're doing wrong, how come you're not experiencing the abundance but the burn out...

Ask God for wisdom or for more workers in the harvest...

In the meantime, persevere drawing strength from God...

Know that your work in the Lord is not done in vain...

Remember, if God wills you to do something, He'll provide the resources...

Last but not least, look at the examples of others in the Bible and how they persevered.

Love from the center of who you are; don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle. Don't burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality. Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they're happy; share tears when they're down. Get along with each other; don't be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don't be the great somebody.

Growing together in one big happy family

One big happy family...

There are times when just a casual hug or a toothy grin may not be enough to show care and concern. After Allen left, I felt that it is necessary to address this whole new dimension of what it means to be a part of this one big happy family. Do we really know what it means... Biblically speaking... So I began digging deeper into the Word of God for answers... What to do, how to react when the big happy family is not so happy...

When we lose a loved one...

One of the most famous phrases in the Bible is "Jesus wept" when his good friend Lazarus passed away. We know this familiar story of how Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead... But before Lazarus resurrected, there's much to learn and apply in our own lives...

Friends and neighbours come to comfort the two sisters
Jesus’ willingness to talk with Martha when she needed consoling
Jesus doesn’t burden Mary with words but finds himself overwhelmed and weeps together with her
The hope of resurrection Jesus offers

When someone is caught with a serious sin...

Recently, during cell group leaders meeting with Ps Chong Hiang, someone asked whether it was appropriate for a practising homosexual to attend our church... eventhough the person knows the church stand that homosexuality is a sin and refuses to repent. Pastor's reply was it's only when there are sinners among us that we learn acceptance. We are always against the sin, not against the sinner.

John 8:4-10

"Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone."

The classic verse taken from the story where the Pharisees try to challenge Jesus' authority and wanted him to stone the adulterous woman.

Jesus reminds the Pharisees that sin is sin... no matter how big the sin is, and they have sinned just like she has sinned
Jesus did not compare His own righteousness with hers, although He was eligble to cast the stone
Judgement and punishment belong to God
Love and forgiveness is better than blind execution of the law

When healing is needed...

Jesus did all sorts of miracles to teach us that with God there is no limit. I am always amazed at how the crippled man was healed because his loyal friends had the faith to bring him to Jesus. When one of us is weak, let the rest of us be strong...

Luke 5:17-20

The crippled man could not have done it by himself
The friends took extreme measures and risked their own lives to bring him to Jesus
The friends put their own interests aside for the sake of their brother
Jesus heals... anyhow, for any reason... if only we believe!

When there is trouble...

My favourite verse regarding Peter's imprisonment is found in Acts 12:5 "So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was praying very hard to God for him." What a wonderful miracle happened when the angel of the Lord came and set him free. Peter just walked out and walked "home".

The believers prayed hard... not just Peter's best friends... but the church...
The brothers and sisters persevered in prayer despite the fact that James had been killed.
God sends His angels to do His work - no violence needed from the believers.

some time April last yr i met him...
wasn't the 1st time seeing him but definitely 1st time chatted with him...

it was English svc new friend gathering at my house...
i remember coz he came quite late...
well, it was a good thing coz others already started talking...
but bcoz i was busy preparing refreshment i didn't engage a 'deep' talk with anyone yet...
so by the time i was a bit free, Allen appeared...
so we sat down somewhere near the door of my living hall...
wow, he was very 健谈 (friendly and chatty) and very open...
He told me how he came to Christ and how God transformed his life...
He said he was very rotten, involved in lots of activities that brought harm to his body and life...
then God found him and gave him a second chance...
since then i really like this brother...

then i heard that he was in Alive class...
he gave very powerful testimony...
then he got baptized...
and he started to serve...
was very helpful whenever he could...

Gideon's 300 - TnT 1st overseas mission trip...
i invited him to join...
but he said he is not TnT anymore...
so i pleaded him and finally he join us...

He was in my wife's group...
according to them, he was the 开心果 (happy person)...
he brought laughter and joy to the group...
i could see that he didn't try to mix with the group but he was naturally with the group...
even though some were half of his age but there's no barrier, no gap...
he was genuinely humble, friendly and joyful...

was thinking which TnT girl can be his girl...
then heard that he found himself one...
wow, happy for him...
he continued to serve, be involved and was faithful to his position...
then i heard he was planning to get married...
was waiting to kacau (tease) him...

last Saturday about 5pm, was resting in my living room...
then angela received a call, from the conversation she sounded sad and surprise...
then i found out that Allen ... passed away ...

the news spread fast and soon many knew about it...
some couldn't believe it because it can't be...
but we finally accepted the fact that he has gone home... heavenly home...
no time to grieve coz the following day was TEENz live worship concert recording...
but my heart was always thinking about him...
why?
why now? why him?

no answer but one thing for sure, it was God's perfect plan with His perfect timing...
He's now in the Father's arms... only happiness, no more sadness...

Allen Chua 21.10.07
Gideon 300 is my 1st mission trip. I do not have any regrets going, but if I did not go, I would definitely regret. Before this trip, I had a "calling" from God, but I suppress it (maybe due to laziness etc.). In this mission trip, there was a 2 days camp, where Pastor James preached on the "calling from God." The calling that I had suppressed, was brought out and I had a conversation with Pastor James. He told me that I need to settle some problems in my life and I will be able to do my calling. And by this time that I am writing this testi, I have settled my problems and I am on my way to start to forward towards my calling.

During the mission trip, it was like, I was on a roller coaster ride. On arrival, I was so tired, hungry, perspiring, my whole body was so sticky/itchy:- i asked myself, what was I doing there in Philippines? I was out of my comfort zone. But then, the next day, we were delegated to minister to a local village church there. Here at home, we always talked about "Church without walls." The village church we went is in actual facts without walls. WOW! We did bible study, P & W, the group leader preached a powerful sermon, teens fellowship, etc. God's presence was with us and I experienced God's presence the way I am unable to experience, back here in my comfort zone. And the way the villagers showed us there thankfulness and gratitudes towards us, makes me realized that this mission trip is worth coming for. All the tiredness and inconveniences is worth it. Hallelujah!

we will remember him...
his life was a great testimony...
he used his life to serve, to love and to share...
God will never give up on anyone...
... and the moment we turn back, let us learn to strengthen others...

Enemies of Ministry

As they say... before engaging in war, know your enemy. But sometimes, we are our own enemy. Found this contemporary article online that details out various enemies of church ministry. I found an interesting article but have edited it to keep things short and sweet.

Let's arm ourselves with this knowledge and keep away from these things:

An unforgiving spirit: Matthew 18:21-35. The issue is never the nature of the sin, but the genuiness of repentance, the willingness to make it right.

Occult involvement: Acts 8:14-25. This one should be obvious, because it is the equivalent of seeking after other gods. Still, it's amazing how many people think Ouija boards, tarot cards or palmistry are harmless. Simon the Sorcerer was struck blind, not for wanting the power to bestow the Holy Spirit, but for trying to get that power through the wrong means. Many good books have already covered this.

Legalism: Acts 15:1-29. We can debate but Jesus made two things clear: (1) the Law of Moses never had anything to do with personal salvation, and (2) the actual Law of God was very much a higher standard. Jesus also said we could never live simple rules. We have to live in communion with God, the communion itself a living thing.

Sexual immorality: (too many references to list). How plain does it have to be made? Sex is holy between a husband (a male) and his wife (a female), in exclusive union, and at no other time, under no other circumstances. They must make public life-long commitment before God.

Divisive schemers: Romans 16:17-18; Titus 3:9-11. Anyone who attempts to stay with the group while trying to alienate a certain person from the group.

Partisans: 1 Corinthians 1:10-17; Ephesians 4:1-6; Philippians 4:2 and others. There is no room for "we versus they" especially among leaders. Those you lead may never quite accept this wholly, but it's your job to speak and operate under the assumption of unity.

Law-Suit happy: 1 Corinthians 6:1-11. Anyone threatening to use outside force to coerce the church to accept their demands has no clue how God works.

Selfish indiscipline: 1 Corinthians 11:17-22. All the talent in the world can't justify someone whose only interest is themselves.

Lawbreakers: Romans 13:1-10. Those who have contempt for social order and the rule of civil law will only destroy church ministry. These are the same people who will reject church authority sooner or later.

Homewreckers: Ephesians 5:22-6:4. The Word of God places a high premium on the sanctity of marriage and family life. Some tension within the home is normal, especially if there are teenagers. Otherwise, efforts should be made to preserve families not wreck them.

Laziness: 2 Thessalonians 3:6-15. Not everyone in this world can be productive in the ordinary sense, but those unwilling to contribute will only slow things down, burdening those who are willing to work.

False teachers: 2 Peter 2. While there are many fine books on the content of teaching, and what constitutes "false teaching," the point here is that some will seek personal fame and gain. They love having influence, and don't care how they get it. Few false teachers can wear the mask of humility very long.

Glory grabbers: 3 John 9-11. Similar to the previous, folks like this have only one goal in mind -- their own glory. Remember, the church is to glorify God not men.

Why I want to go for Tibet mission trip? During the English Service camp last year, Pastor Mark Geppert made a lot of mention about the work that is going on in Tibet. I was very impressed with how God was moving so wonderfully in that land. It is a known fact that Tibet is a very hard ground to penetrate with the gospel.I believe the work there is something that is worth seeing. It is also my desire to assess the feasibility on how we the TNT can be of help and even be a part of this ongoing work there.

I see this trip as an encouragement to Lawrence Ng (a member of TNT) who has shown tremendous zeal in doing mission work. Our presence there would show him that we are also interested and committed to the same cause.

Why I want to go Tibet for mission trip?
It’s been a while that I long to go for places such as Tibet and Nepal, where gospel was surpassingly ‘hostile’ to the people yet mission work was able to established there. Recently when I met with Ps. Mark, he shared with us the progress and new work in Tibet, which really interest me.

I felt that many of times we only see how difficult to preach the gospel here but it’s so encouraging to know that gospel has been widely spread in Tibet. Therefore I want to go to Tibet to once again catch the fire and learn how to persevere on to reach out those who have needs.

Why I want to go Tibet for mission trip.
During last year mission trip I have a strong feelings or prompting (not really sure) that the coming year mission trip go China , so I was looking for mission trip to China .China is a country that I really want to go for mission and also because I know the language, history and culture of the country. I want to make full used of what I capable to do for God. Actually I felt a bit scared but also excited.....

Why Tibet? All the "holy rivers" in Asia start in the mountainous region around Tibet.
Like Ganges river,Mekong river etc... There is definitely a spiritual significance and I want to see for myself. I don't think I will have courage to go on my own, so I want to grab this opportunity to go with other bros n sis in a group. What to achieve? See how God is moving in the land... with my own eyes, not just hearsay. Participate and experience how God is moving and what He wants to do there.

Why Tibet?
Initially I have no intention or interest to go for the trip but I still prayed to God about it. Then suddenly a great interest of going there arose within me so I signed up.

What to achieve? Do whatever help we can (a qualified nurse), i.e. preaching gospel, helping those with medical condition.

* Never come across any Christian-based medical set up before till Pastor Mark's sharing with us so would like to explore and understand better how a Christian organisation runs such projects or any other projects (non-medical) there. I was very excited when I heard that our church is going to have a mission trip to Tibet. Without hesitating, both Jit Mun and I decided at the same time that we are going to Tibet.

Tibet is somewhere totally new to me, I wish to explore the Tibetan culture, custom and the historical sites. I would like to see how the people on that part of the world lead their life, and to find out the needs of the people over there, both materially and spiritually. I would also be interested to find out why the Tibetan monks are

so committed to their own belief, what is the “force” behind the belief.

Tibet is located on the world highest region, a place that well known for its rich culture and strong spiritual influences for rest of the world. My interests of visiting the place build up overtime through hearing missionaries carry out work in the region as well on some personal encounters of Tibetan friend travel aboard.

One objective in this short term visit is to personally involve and experiencing the life of local missionaries/contact person. At the same time taking time see the need of the people living in that particular place or perhaps I would learn a thing or two from them in the process.

A missionary ever said (paraphrased): God only Son was a missionary, we all are missionary unless God said you are not. the people needs to know who is God...

I once heard of a church where members thought it was against God's will to vote. Concerned that a corrupt politician would win a local election, church members gathered for an all-night prayer vigil. In the morning, however, they refused to vote and the good candidate lost--by fewer than the number of votes represented by those at the prayer meeting.
It seems tragic, but maybe those church members did the right thing. After all, isn't politics a dirty business? Christians are citizens of heaven, not of earth…right? Every Christian must grapple with this question and come up with a defensible answer.

THE HIGH COST OF INDIFFERENCE

I teach political communication at a Christian college. Once several years ago students in my class complained endlessly about seedy politicians. Yet the day after the election, I discovered that only two of them had voted, and most weren't even REGISTERED to vote! I told them, "For the rest of the semester, if you didn't vote, you have lost your right to complain in this class." Years later they still remember the lesson.

WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CHRISTIAN CITIZEN

There are at least five good reasons why Christians should vote:

God has granted us authority. All authority belongs to God, but He has put human beings on the earth as caretakers. What is our task? According to Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20, we are to go out and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey God in every area of life. This includes politics. We must disciple people to make godly decisions about government, and promote the efforts of those who are already doing so.

We need to stand against evil. St. Augustine said those who are citizens of God's kingdom are best equipped to be citizens of the kingdom of man. The alternative is unthinkable. In the 20th Century, atheistic and secular humanistic leaders gained control of nations all across Europe, Asia and Africa. What was the result? According to historian R. J. Rummel, almost 170 million men, women and children have been brutally murdered by these governments, all in the name of human progress. These facts led historian John Hallowell to note, "Only through a return to faith in God, as God revealed Himself to man in Jesus Christ, can modern man and his society find redemption from the tyranny of evil."

Christian values contribute positively to society. The Bibles solutions make sense. It is Christian involvement in government through the ages that gave us hospitals, civil liberties, abolition of slavery, modern science, the elevation of women, regard for human life, great works of art and literature, a workable system of justice, education for common people, the free-enterprise system, and much, much more. When we see the good that results from applying God's principles, and the horror that results from rejecting them, doesn't it seem cruel and irresponsible to keep Jesus teachings about truth, love and compassion to ourselves? At very least, we should vote to keep OUT of office those who attempt to oppose God's authority.

Obedience to authority demands good citizenship. The Apostle Paul in Romans chapter 13 clearly states that we must obey governmental leaders because all authority comes from God. Here's the catch: in America, the people are the leaders! Here, at least, we express our obedience to God by exercising our rights and privileges as citizens. That means voting.

Good citizenship sets an example for generations to come. Those who apply God's principles to government pave the way for generations of blessing. In 1768 a Christian minister named John Witherspoon became president of the College of New Jersey, now Princeton. While there he taught biblical principles of government to his students.
Of the 478 young men who were graduated during his tenure, writes author John Eidsmoe, "114 became ministers; 13 were state governors; 3 were U. S. Supreme Court judges; 20 were U.S. Senators; 33 were U. S. Congressmen; Aaron Burr, Jr. became Vice-President; and James Madison became President." As a Christian, Witherspoon exerted an enormous influence on the direction of American government.
You and I may not have the gifts of John Witherspoon, but we can still make a big difference if we put our minds to it. Pass this on to friends and family, and encourage them to vote in the every election!
